I questioned paying the money for him at the time because I felt it was an area that we were pretty strong in and could have used the money elsewhere in a position that I felt was needed more but how wrong was I, he's developing into a very good player and is having more and more influence on games, him and Fitzy were outstanding today.

If we can make a Joe Westerman type signing every season it won't be long before we are at the top. Truly excellent player with a good 10 years in him, future captain material without a doubt.

There were a few eyebrows raised at the size of his fee especially as he had just had a poor season and only had one year to run. However as I said when we signed him he is a very classy player with great hands for a big lad, his skills are now starting to come out and it shows in the points we are scoring.

Also looks equally as comfortable in the second row, loose man or in the halves.

Also good to hear his song finally catch on after months of trying :p

A great performance from Joe but we need more of the same against his old club a week on Saturday

indeed, we bought Westerman at just the right time, but it does seem certain that it's curtains for Washbrook now, as far as FC are concerned.

It should be a statement of fact not a question.

Fitz has been playing prop, Westy at 6 or 13.

Actually, I think Westy has looked better at 6 than 13, whether that's because he just gets his hands on the ball more or gets more responsibility, or it's actually his position I don't know.

Next year could be good with Seymore and Westy creating with Horne and McKinnon supporting them; could be pretty exciting.

Has he had a decent game against a top 4 team? And, has he sorted out his off field habits?

Probably one of the best players on the pitch against Catalans 2 weeks back. Fact is, he has become more of a dominant player recently for us - have we played a top 4 side in that? Not sure, but for him to stand out he needs his teammates to support him, which on the whole has not happened this year. But, lets see how he goes in the last 2 games and our only game in the play offs!
