People saying Abdull won’t play 13 I have no idea what the thinking is with JA but think Cartwright must really like Cust wouldn’t be surprised to see him start as the 6. We were desperate for a halfback for this season and seemingly didn’t show an interest in him when he was available after what was a pretty solid couple of years in a winning side, strange that we now sign him after a disappointing season. Highly thought of at Manly JC must have a plan for him.

Agreed but also on the field wise it’s not like having some depth in the spine positions wouldn’t be absolutely vital. Even if all 3 are fit and raring to go start of the season nobodies going to be sat twiddling thumbs for long. Rovers are the only team I can think of this season that haven’t had any spine players missing for a decent spell.

What Cust will do is put pressure on Abdul. That can only be a good thing. Although it shouldn't be necessary, you never know.

With them dropping the big signings announcements this week I'm betting season pass brochures are in the post!

Abdul's full wage doesn't count on the cap.
Shows the club are trying to maximise the cap available.
Criticise the signing, but you won't get a comparable signing for £50K per season (the amount that counts towards the cap).

I see rovers have signed Lee kershaw who I suggested we lo9ked at but was told he's not good enough

I'd rather we run with Martin and Barron. Both got a higher ceiling than Kershaw. No point blocking their path with a player like him

Cade Cust named in love rugby leagues worst team of the season alongside Nu Brown, Okunbor, Cam Scott and Pele. Saveleio thrown in just to add further salt to the wounds. The dream team!

If we are going down the prop to replace Sao route, I'd be tempted with Satae, think he would compliment our pack with the other 3 props, 2 year deal and won't count on the quota the year after.

Not a bad shout and would hopefully play longer minutes given Cartwright's emphasis on fitness. Another plus is he won't have any problems settling in. Still think we need another prop. English if available would be a good option.

Kershaw is alright but is a weird signing for Rovers, he'll do a job but Martin and Barron will both become better players.

Could just as easily chuck Mcillorum and Ratchford in at 9 and centre.

No doubt some Hull players and former players deserve to be in that team though

Never go back. That is one signing that would put me on edge. He had probably half a dozen good games for us. The rest of the time he plodded about taking an age to get back into the defensive line. Posters calling out Abdul’s weight issues but Satae is pro as bad.
