My point was that I don't know what else they could do with Moa. Whilst we all loved Moa by the end of the season, perhaps there were other more fitting targets for the club. The overseas "quota" is very restricting now and the Cusack signing kind of tied their hands.

For the record, I rate Cusack and think he has been sorely missed since he became injured. Before people talk purely about line breaks, think about defence and particularly the speed of the play-the-ball he gave us which we just haven't had since he's been out. I think that they knew King would be on his way and we needed someone with unquestionable professionalism on and off the park so they made sure they got him signed.

Perhaps, once King has gone and IF Moa turns Hull down that leaves room for one or two other props to come in? If not, then Lauaki can be spelled (obviously not by the on-pitch announcer) between prop and second-row.

Its not alien for Lauaki to play prop in fact Steven Pryce quoted him the best impact prop in the NRL early last season.

However given that 2 of Briscoes last 3 tries have been created by Lauaki's passing out to the right maybe our coaches have had their heads turned. Hell you have to go back to the Jason Smith days since our right wingers got the ball passed to them!

Oh well that's it then, it's set in stone. Lauaki is a second rower along with Richard Whiting and Kingy and Sam Moa are both staying.

I would pay little attention to the recent published squad formation, it means nowt.

I'd wait to see how they line up in the first competitive game of next season!

Lauaki should clearly be considered as a first choice SR with a view to covering prop where required.

If Agar wants to let Moa go and replace him with Lauaki, we will have less options in the FR and our SR will have considerably less punch.

The only possible explanation for such a plan would be that Agar is a total and utter clown ??

One potential problem I see is the size of our back row. Lauaki could be used in the front row to ease the numbers in the back row, although as has been said, he's a lot better out wide.

We obviously have far too many SRs which, for me, makes the constant renewing of captain Fantastic's contract even more baffling. We could have used his salary in a many more useful ways including 3/4s, HB cover, prop, orange peeler, ballboy etc...

Hopefully they take the captaincy off him, and lets see how he goes next year, too many people in the game see to have time and respect for him as a player and person to totally write him off.

Captaincy aside the reason people have time and respect for him as a player and person is because of the high workrate and tackles that he does,
its not really his fault that there were/are too many similar players at the club, thats called poor recruitment.
with less of these players here next year i'm sure Radford will have a good season doing what hes best at.

I would agree , and with Agar selecting him at 13 does not help the balance of the team.

True and for that reason (playing three out and out 2nd rowers as opposed to two plus a creative 13) maybe is the reason why we have so many 2nd rowers at the club!

I'd love to see us with a backrow of Fitzy/ Lauaki or Tickle/ Manu with back up of Bennett, Radders et al...with Washy or Whiting as a creative 13.

Who's Bennett? Is he a new signing we don't know about?
