While I agree that we have some 'bad' days to come, I am confident that under Gentle we won't see the team 'not turn up' and get hammered like we did frequently under Agar.

I too was happy with 6th at the start of the season, but I feel we can sneak into the Top4 now.

Our team ethic is superb. - Defence is very well structured.

to go to the next level,we need a 6 ,who can pass at speed,and create more than 'a drop-off pass' , also with a long kicking game.

Horne looked better at FB -, would like to see Ellis given a go at 6.

Whiting was sensational at 13, Dallas Johnsonesque.

All in all ,the future is looking very rosy.

At the beginning of the season, I reckoned 4th place in the league would be very satisfactory. For too long we've stuttered a spluttered with a good win here and there followed by a bad loss against teams we expect to beat.
Crucially, in my opinion, we are now becoming a team with a habit of winning. Long may it continue

I think the signs are there that we're on the road back to where we should be. If we can get the guys back who are missing then we can push on.

Returned home on compassionate leave. The Brother said earlier that Sam is due back on Tuesday so he will hopefully come into contention for the Cup game.

just to finnish the matter off, my doc gave me the best advice on flu, he said if your laid on the sofa with flu and somebody drops a twenty pound note outside,could you go and get it? if the answer is yes you aint got flu,if you got flu you can hardly stand,its a bad cold,

Its our squad depth that I find most encouraging this season.

Today we watched a team dominate the game from very early on and even when we went behind I was never worried. We have a coach who has created an environment where players can flourish, Sharp and Turner are very different players now to a year ago. I saw players backing each other up with a belief in each other and a do or die attitude is clear to see , they want to be together. The tactics where spot on, perfect in ever way and we seem to using differing plans for differing teams, which is of course how it should be.

Peter Gentle says very little to the media and comes across as a bloke getting on with his job quietly, avoids loud brash statements. I do not think we are going to win all before us, but I do think we are competing and the rugby on display is a whole lot better then the fare we have been served up. Winning today will improve our standing and will put extra on the gate in coming weeks.

Thanks Peter Gentle and the rest of the coaching staff for giving us quality RL back and restoring pride we are not back quite yet but we are on the right track now.

You look at Saints, Leeds, Wigan et al and they're able to still compete when they suffer injuries. It seems we're building something similar.
The way we've so far dealt with our forwards crisis is heartening to say the least.

Personally I doubt our squad depth is much better than previous seasons, what has changed is that we have a coach who doesn't mention the absent players and sends a squad on to the pitch with a game plan and believing they will win.

PG and AP have probably by now inherited another 10,000 Christmas cards this year.

A guy who is not getting a lot of credit IMO is Brett Seymour. For a long while we have craved that half back who does all the fancy passes and kicks and just because Seymour maybe has not done that he has not had a lot of praise. IMO he organizes the team tremendously and you can always see him barking orders out down the line. You always see him pointing where he wants the players to run from and this must be a massive relief to the players on the pitch knowing they have a general among them who can steer the ship.

He is the reason we no longer panic in the opponents half of the pitch. Has an eye for scoring a try to.

I thought he had his best game for us today, and for a halfback he tackles really well.

His kicking (particularly in the first half) could be better, but he is getting better and better and it great having a consistent no7 on the pitch each week.

Also - Seymour's defence is outstanding and isn't made out of hob nobs like our previous 7's

I thought Seymour had a great game today in defence and every time he had the ball he gave the Rovers defence something to worry about. Just a couple of kicks today let him down a tad.

I said the same today - the last two games he has been outstanding for me. Great Scum Half and leader.

He is what we haven't had had in the past few seasons someone to direct us around the pitch

Still think Seymour and Ellis would be the combination to go with.
The problem that leaves is who to play at fullback.
Richard Horne has played well there, but so has McKinnon.
It's a tough choice for Gentle but I can't see him switching from the usual Horne at 6 with Ellis on the bench. Our kicking game is much better though when Ellis is on the pitch.

Are we top 4 this season? Probably not, but we have a great Coach, a great Chairman and the future is BLACK AND WHITE.

This season me, Mrs BM and our daughter are actually looking forward to going to games, as opposed under Agar just like thousands of other fans, finding it a chore to go and watch the SOS.

Now the signs are looking good and I get the feeling that long term, something special is building. You can just sense it.

Seymour stepped up and controlled the 2nd half. Organises well . He should have scored in the first half though. He gave the ball when it was easier to score!
