No doubt a quality player in his time but he is a wing now playing full back and you see him here as a centre.

Easy to kick the boys when they are down to the bare bones, Cas have quite good quality at 1, 6, 7, 9, and 13, we don’t, but we did manage to get back in the game, and a couple of missed opportunities you never know.

Chamberlain is a decent squad player, will provide good cover in a number of positions, replaces Scott, not sure why him signing is a big deal.

Maybe there aren't any decent centres available, so we sign a good player in another position rather than a poor centre.

I'd try him at centre, but suspect he will play fullback.

On their website Hodgson is the assistant coach, so maybe that’s how they’ve got around it. Had it clarified. You can’t have an overseas coach and an assistant coach unless he’s played here.

Think Last is a decent appointment. He’s got plenty of experience, worked in the England camp. Also local so there’s no additional cost of re locating. Whatever budget Myler has,

Once we come calling, actually think people actually think we are bigger than we are, but sadly we have to recruit some players who can't get into play off teams.

Just to be clear I’d much prefer we used the quota spot elsewhere but for perspective we will finish the season rock bottom as the worst team in the competition and Cust is obviously a decent SL level player. I don’t know the ins and outs of budgets and who we targeted before him but maybe someone who can’t get in the Salford team is just our level now. It’s a shame we couldn’t get him in for whatever for the end of the season.

I say decent player because he seemed to play pretty regularly in a good Wigan team, and I’m sure he played a fair bit at hooker for them in the run in last season. Also he played nearly 30 NRL games by the age of 22 with a decent try scoring ratio, most of which while Cartwright was his assistant coach at Manly. That’s better than many players who have ended up doing well in SL. I think it’s the coaches recommendation and It’s not exactly blinkered to think he might even still have a bit of improvement at 25.

Lewis Murphy signed for Saints from next season. He could go one of 2 ways, constantly injured or make a really great winger

Think it's a really good signing, was saying a while back we should make him an offer, although if Barron and Martin can continue their development, then I'm happy with our wingers fir next year.
