Now would be a perfect time to appoint a new coach imo. Its some sort of an unwritten rule in sport that appointing new coaches usually brings good short-term results at least, and with a period of 4-5 approaching that are all very winnable, I think making a move now would be ideal. If we were to bring a new coach in and we went on to win the next 4 games, we would be in a great position league wise and the disappointment of the challenge cup would be forgotten imo. Of course I know for a fact that this isnt going to happen, but it's just my opinion anyway. Agar is totally inept as a coach, his tactics are dire, his ability to motivate the players is questionnable to put it politely, and his attitude is far too defeatist for my liking, GET RID!

Quite frankly I think we are still going backwards on the field under Agar, nice guy he maybe but he certainly is not getting the best out of what he has available by a long way. For me time has already proved he is not up to the job of head coach in SL, good assistant he maybe be but head coach NO.

The Board have some serious thinking to do as we are well into the season, form is scratchy putting it mildly, we are now out of the cup and have suffered two thumping defeats by Leeds who themselves had been struggling early doors. The reason for the serious thinking is that with the quota being reduced next year it is very unlikely the club will make any top class overseas signings for next season what can they do to attract a fanbase to renew its passes that is rapidly growing disillusioned by what is not happening on the field?
For me the only option is a change of Head Coach, but whether that will happen only time will tell.

Agar has had time enough now for the team to be showing signs of improvement, much was made of him getting the preseason training started early but we are steadily getting worse in most departments.

Massive mistake giving the guy a 2 year deal when he hasnt proved he is up to it or quite frankly when he hasnt bl00dy earnt it.

There is no way on God's Earth that Agar quit this year or next. Why would he?

Not enjoyed Following Hull for 3 years now, losing doesn't hurt me as much as it should and I feel I'm just following them out of routine and habit. you are not alone in that feeling digby! i have being trying to think of excuses for my feelings, poor refereeing, injuries not helped the situation and even missing the atmosphere at the boulevard. But what it all boils down to is lack of passion on the pitch, when everything else off the pitch is working so well, damm frustrating.

And there in lies the problem as the board know we will still turn up for OUR club but as you say the passion is draining out of us all thanks to the we have been served over the last few years

I would not waste your time, no one is going to listen not now anyway.

I have a friend who works for Telegenic who do SL broadcast for Sky and its policy that Sky can and will just switch the camera's away and tinker with the sound, in fact they are required to be the RFL just like at Football the camera's do not show any crowd distruption.

The only time this lot in charge are vunerable to fan is at season pass sales time, if a boycott can be organised then the powers that be may just bend a little. I think that many people will run out of patience after this season anyway the penny has now dropped with them. I have always feared this would happen its like history repeating itself as this is the way the 80s went, Agar is the noughties equivelent of Casey. The crowds drop away and before you know its back to the 3-4K hardcore and I think that could be even less then that now.

The club is being starved of success for no other reason then a lack of understanding of its supporters, they think we are stupid and will except anything they serve up. Criticising the club, coaches and players is somehow disloyal in some peoples eyes I got abuse from one of our fans yesterday for clapping a brilliantly EXECUTED LEEDS TRY. Numpty did not even understand the rules and spent the whole match abusing the ref and thats the problem you have speak up and you get shouted down.

The club is now a business and a big one at that, people are making good livings out of fans coughing up large wedges of dosh.

Would not really make a difference though, we cant compete with one of the biggest crowds in SL so its pretty pointless having big crowds, we would be in the same situation.

As you say its not rocket science, for the board Agar is doing a great job and you an see why they want to keep him, he is a "yes" man who can be controlled and influenced will be earing a very low wage compared to some, yet the club are still making the money becuase they are not losing any revenue, perfect situation, also the board are clever in the way they have used such slogans as "keep the faith", "In any kind of weather" and "18th man" etc all have helped create or added to this mentality that anyone who questions certain decisions is detremental to the performance of the team, or that anyone who shows less then complete blind faith is a bad influence.

Regardless of people's opinions about Agar, we are not having threads on here where people are throwing personal abuse at him.

Make your points as much as you like and discuss why he is wrong for the job but we won't tolerate personal abuse, it's not warranted!
