I was thinking/hoping the same.

Speaking to AP in person at some length last night he's fully aware of the current situation and the main causes and said he'd be bringing in defence/attack and conditioning staff. He also alluded to 2 players on marquee money which goes against his beleifs but needs must to compete with other clubs. I asked if that's what's upset the harmony of the team but he strongly denied it.
So we'll wait and see if it's just saying what people want to hear or it comes to fruition. One thing that was clear is that he doesn't under estimate the frustrations of the supporters.

Radford will be gone this time next year if we arent in the play-offs, simples.

At his age, LR isn't going to accept a director of football role. If he did, his career has gone.

Just maybe he's accepting, he is partially to blame,for under strengthening of the backroom staff..
Personally, there was no need to recruit players on marquee money, this may do more harm than good, maybe this was the reason Pritchard's contract was terminated..
Depends on who,the new backroom staff are,IF they are external appointments, then it would be a great acquisition by the club, if its from within, then personally, it's more of the same, nothing much will change..
We'll have to wait and see, if its all 'talk' or he means to galvanise the club..i hope its the latter...

Its interesting to read AP's thoughts on this season and next.

I agree with much of what he says and its pleasing to hear him say that he shares the disappointment in yet again another tail off and rapid decline in performance at the end of a season and that it isnt good enough.

I also agree it is totally unacceptable to use social media to abuse players or members of the club and anyone who has done should be reported for doing such. Why anyone would give players like Masi, Jordan or Kieran abuse is beyond me.

Its good to hear he understands that the fans are hurting and hopefully he understands why.

I also understand what he says with regards the clubs position in terms never being a top club if we just get 8000 fans etc but that is down to the club to put a product out on the field that excites and delivers. I think the fans have shown tremendous loyalty for years but with other demands on life that loyalty can and will be tested to the limit and can be irretrievably broken.

I do have some reservations on the fact that the review of the coaching structure will also be carried out by LR & AL particularly as LR has stated recently he wont be adding or changing the coaching staff.
I also think the 'Eastern suburbs' comment is a poor one to make with respect as if anything the fact he is a Hull lad has helped the fans to be a little more patient so its a bit of an insult to the fans. Its not the fact that he is from Hull not Australia thats the issue but the fact that we are not improving and brand of rugby is poor and below the level it should be for the money spent and the players available at his disposal.
To best way to describe the coaching staff would be 'Parochial' and we need ideas from outside the area otherwise we will just stay stale.

All in all its a mixed bag but hopefully shows he is still committed to the cause and will make the changes necessary no matter how difficult they maybe for the greater good of the club.

As usual despite my disappointment and frustrations I'll still get my pass but more out of hope that things will change than anything else. In all honesty the excitement of the new signings has been tempered with the disappointment of the same failings again.

Hated Judas (The Cooke one) since he left us but id even give him a chance with the attacking side of things

What is it that Pearson cant see about the deficiencies in our coaching staff
So we are now going to get an additional defence and attack coach is that correct?
If thats correct then just what will Radford and the rest of the Hull circle of coaches do?
Surely if he is classing lack of coaching in both defence and attack then what is he paying Radford for?
Its certainly not ball handling,speed of pass,player movement on and off the ball or concentracion.

Certainly we will be looking at changes to the coaching structure and that review into the structure will be led by myself, Lee Radford and Andy Last.

How can you have a review of the coaching delivered by the coaching staff who are the ones under scrutiny?

Don't think it's fake news. I just believe that his relationship, trust, belief in Radford is that tight it would take a lot for him to dismiss the coach.
Only when on field there's no return for his investment and crowds start to dwindle will he act.

Lee will be here next season and so the wheel rotates again and again and again.

Im always happy for Pearson to show passion for his club, and positive signs that the club are planning to grow the coaching team as that has been a big weakness in my eyes.

But I dont agree with his comments that this was a transition year and didnt expect to make the playoffs. The message from the club this time last year when they were trying to shift some passes was that the 'class of 2016' still had 'it' and would be having one more shot at glory. At no point do I remember the fans being told to lower their expectations. Even in recent weeks we've been told the Grand Final as a target, every game a playoff tie etc

I understand the club is a business and they being honest and saying 'next year will be a duff one' doesnt sell passes, but he cant have it all ways. If they hype it up and have to deliver.

On the increasing crowds point some of it is obvious, we need to play better at home. We have several freinds and family who are what i'd describe as 'floating fans' due to either finances, work commitments or only being interested in the bigger ties only go to a few games a year. Apart from the Derby everytime these extra fans have come with us this year it has been a complete and utter letdown, theres little to no incentive to splash out on a pass.

Theres a few smaller things the club can do to try and improve the matchday atmosohere. Do we need the same music booming out each week before kickoff? Some weeks you cant even hear the person next to you, nevermind getting a chant going.

Handing out flags for big games seems to work for some clubs, it gets people off their seats and just makes a game a bit more special.

Also if the SMC allow it, can they reopen the East/North corner with cheap tickets? Overtime more people have moved from the East Stand to West Stand and this has further cut the atmosphere. The East stand is the first thing the players see, its what the cameras see, its meant to be our 'Kop' and we need it buzzing again.

I dont sit in the South stand so maybe not best placed to comment...but viewing for a distance, the reserved seats they put in a few years ago dont seem to have boosted sales, and Unreserved seats always means people get there earlier. So this could do with a review.

Let’s just be honest, as much as we are all greatly appreciative of what Pearson as done for the club, he’s talking a load of old horse poop. I like Pearson a lot, but this is just rehed nonsense

I thought his passion came through again.
He acknowledged the coaching team needs strengthening, and alluded to a change of playing style.
Have a feeling he may change things next year if things not going well.
Very interested to see who strengthens the coaching side.

All well and good changing things if Radders tenure isn't working out, but a full pre-season with a new coach would surely be better.
It would seem AP shows the same sort of loyalty to LR as LR does to his players. From an employer/employee relationship this is just what you need, but sport isn't a normal business.
I think LR's loyalty to his players has backfired on him a number of times this season.

AP told me exactly what message Masi had been sent and believe me, he wouldn't make it up. I doubt it was even from one our fans, it was both racist and sick. There's some head cases out there.

Two things struck me from the interview with Adam Pearson

1) Speaking about the terrible home form and blowout results,Pearson said Radford had gone to him and asks how can we improve
So you have the coach who really doesnt know what to do about the clubs form and asks the Chairman for advice.
Sounds more like can i have a vote of confidence Mr Chairman

2) Pearson said that both Radford and himself regret moving Watts out

Ironic he is now in the England squad for the first time
