fielden is reported to be on huge money at wigan. Been better this season so I'd imagine if his wage demands were reasonable then wigan would be looking to keep him. coley would be better VFM but doubt he'd move over here and would just go back to being a donkey under our coach anyway

Not much point in hoping or speculating anyway because I think that we all expect Dowes and Radford to get extensions to Agar's little boys club !!!

mcrae was the last decent coach we had. Put in the correct structures and brought in players who fit his way of playing at the right end of their careers.

Only regular members of our pack who came through the ranks are houghton and radford (who spent more time in bradford's ranks anyway)

Our team is pretty much made up of over the hill aussies/british players and cast offs from other clubs

Don't think so, Horne and Cooke are possibles I guess, tbh I can't remember that far back in great detail about the players who came through under him. I do knwo he had some of the best ever squads we have had in SL with some genuine world class players yet he never quite delivered as he should have done and people were of the opinion that we needed a change in coaching personal as Bomber had taken us as far as he could.

My recollection of that period was that we had lots of injuries (I know, I know) to key players. We still had an exciting squad and played some of the most entertaining rugby of the modern era.

His subsequent coaching record suggests otherwise. However we were half decent to watch thanks to the players he did bring in that had some flair.

Aye , I think Phil clark emphasized that in a piece before Quins home game. We nearly scored twice as many tries under McCrea than we have under Agar.

Carvell, Raynor, Kingy and Yeaman I think all improved under Bomber to some extent and as you mentioned Rich Horne and Paul Cooke who clearly did. The main difference back then was there was a plan B + C and even a D, the team played entertaining and expansive rugby. I site one of the final games at the Boulevard against Saints when they only managed to win by a whitewashed head. Daylight, Robinson, Felch, Maiden, Bird, Maher, Grima they brought us hope back then and where a whole lot more entertaining then paid stars that the so called high adorn our ( I was going to say pitch) treatment room.

We have not been playing entertaining rugby for some years now, its being coached out of them for some reason. Now some people might say winning is all important, there wrong but they can say it. We have seen some corking matches and got beat, the Hull v Leeds SL game at the KC around 2005 that was nil nil at half time. That was one best matches I have seen and we only just lost it near the end.

I would happily go back to that, at least you went away seeing a good game the majority of the time, whereas now you feel lucky to see a good entertaining display.

Not sure whether bomber had restrictions when he went back to Aus to coach but to look at his record whilst at Salford is wrong. They are operating at roughly half of the cap and the fact they have got a couple of wins is a minor miracle itself.
