Hands up who used to frequent Tower on a Monday night?

Stripper's night! Wahey!











Thursdays were a decent night out in Hull one time of day. Tower especially.

In my going out days (mid-90's) Oasis was the place. Cheap as chips in the downstairs bar, best music in the town upstairs in the club.

Over 25's night and it was RAF!

Henry's!! Hull no 1 spot!, it was never as bad as the reputation it had, better than ocean 11 anyway! used to also enjoy welly and the old silhouette on spring bank, did'nt bother with city centre nightclubs too much apart from maybe scamps if some free tickets where flying about in trog bar earlier in the evening.

Off topic a bit but what a great site when you have a dig around it, the photo's of the guy sat on the Lion on top of guild hall is awesome.

Yes it is a fantastic site,i've been looking on there randomly for a few years now, some of the pics in the old mental hospitals are positively scary. I also like the underground sewer type ones under our major cities. They're braver people than me,or more stupid.

I went in on one of these nights , A few of us were off to see England play in Poland and the coach was due about 2ish outside Tower ,so we went for a couple . Not knowing it was stripper night , we where quite surprised to see 3 "women" on the stage performing what can only be described as a stage version of Thriller. Everyone in the place was p155ing themselves. Comedy value 10 out of 10 . I never went again though , The emotional scars were just to much to take again.

That was the nights they used to have a strip off when any 'girls' in could come on stage and have a competition strip off against each other, the winner taking a £25 prize. It was like a stripping version of Karaoke. There were some rough sights on that stage, 5 girls got up, 4 of them were butt naked by the time the first verse had ended dancing around uncomfortably for the next 2 mins.. some very unusual sights in there on those nights..

Sounds about right, The second one just left the stage and went straight to the bar ...butt naked.

I could have been on a scouting mission for Bradford .

Because not everyone wants to sit down in a pub and sup. Some people like to go get a bit of atmosphere and get a groove on, and they're open longer than pubs.

nail on head!! a night out used to be a few beers and then your best travolta stylee, sadly lacking in todays youth I fear

Thought I would add to this thread to say that the new LA's opens down Malton Street (witham) on December 4th. (check out the facebook group) apparently the owner of Jack rabbits paid out for alot of the old LA's stuff before it was knocked down and has tried to recreate it. Also if there's anyone need a job in this industry then they are holding interviews at Jack Rabbits next week

There is still lots to do late on in Hull, in recent months since my release back into the world of alcohol I have re discovered it all. The old town is cracking for us older ones and everyone mixes well, the new drinking rules seem to have a better effect on the us old ones who can now enjoy our beer over a longer period of time.

Witham is a good night out plenty of pubs catering to everyones tastes and again a good atmosphere, I have never felt threatened or seen any unpleasantness. The world moves on and I do think Hull has improved since the days when I went to Locarno, Spencers, Earl de grey, Broadway, Yorkshireman, White Lion, Manchester and Trog bar when abuse, fighting and getting legless where a way of life.

Indeed it is reopening in the old school house.
Yes it is being done by the owner of Jack Rabbit Slims.
From what I can gather he is recreating all of it including Hollywood Blv'd and the rest.
