| when we do well its down to the players, when we do badly its always RA, unbelievable .......
the fact is we are slowly gaining momentum heading towards the part of the season that really matters, yes we will loose games again as will all clubs however for now we are playing decent rugby, defending well and taking the training paddock onto the game time grass... and finally doing it when it matters.
we have recruited excellent players in Phelps, Gleeson and obst and finally when we have a specialized full back, a second world class centre and a half that can dictate we are moving forwards...
hopefully another win at Widnes and then onto a period of matches we could push potentially push out=rselves up another two or three places and then be real contenders going into the latter part of the season..
but i guess the same sheep will say "so we beat Oldham, Salford etc etc what does that prove"

| Whether winning or losing it is usually a mixture of players and coach to blame, but just like in the media it is rarely the players who take the brunt of the blame when things go wrong and it is rarely the coach who gets all the plaudits when things go right.

Toyally agree, what galls me is the same sheep bleeting the same tune even when were on a winning run for a while , to be honest I still giggle at those who found things to complain about after the Warrington game, sure you see my point also!
at present things are going well and were entering a period when we are not facing any of the so called big hitters which could see us consolidate some form before we face one of the heavy mob again which can only be a good thing if we can take so decent pointage from the coming 6 at least!
however someone said a wee while ago that SL points dont matter????? I disagree totally because to me that is ALL that matters...

it proves exactly nothing, take your glasses off, weve won nothing yet, playing better ill admit, but until we do this to the big teams on a regular basis, and have a good run in the play off, im afraid i wont change my mind about the coach, he (IMO) just isnt the coach to take us to that next level

same could be said about those "[isheep[/i" who bleet on about all things are great in the FC camp!!
Things are better that the beginning of the season, but they couldnt have got any worse, lets hope we keep the form up, i wont be complaining if we do, but ill still be hoping for a new coach
Why do you feel the need to be patronizing to fans who dont agree with your views?

| i think that if you look at our recent form we are moving in the right direction. whether this is down to the coaching or the players i think we as supporters should look positive to the future. i think if you look back to the derby longy had a great kicking game , and he nailed rovers left wing time and time again. only last ditch tackles stopped hull gaining a bigger win. so my point is if you have a class no7 on the pitch week in week out you are going to move in the right direction with the rest of the squad hull have. also if fitz decides to call it a day at the end of the season that will be a massive void to fill. so i hope hulls recent form continues, onwards and upwards. so mr agar my point is , please sign us a class no7 who can put the minutes on the pitch. no knocking longy, but he is entering the twilight of his career. heres looking forward to a great second half to the season. come on you hullllll !!!!!!!!!

i think we will be ok, but if mr agar does not recognise that longy is not the answer for next season then we have to question his actions. i rate longy but age and injuries are now against him. sam obst is a cracking little player, but i think just how good hull could be with a half decent 7. if you look back over the last few seasons longy and adam dykes were both cracking players, but at the wrong end of their careers and hit hard with injuries. i really liked mathew head, but again quite injury prone and did take some big hits. i know its been said before but look at brough now, playin great rugby, i know he had to go, but he is at the right age and strong and physical. same with dobson, hull had their chance, but his record speaks for itself. so i think past experiences speak for themself. the proof is there for everyone to see. so please mr agar give us an answer to all our prayers, a 7 not ready to hang his boots up.

| The season is certainly looking a good deal brighter than it did a month ago, immediately prior to easter. The standard of rugby being played and the entertainment value being served is probably the best we've had since the back end of the 2007 season. Now I know that's not saying much when taking into consideration some of the absolute dross we've had to endure at times during the past 3 seasons, but surely most of us on here have enjoyed watching the games since Good Friday.
Having taken the brickbats when things weren't going well, Agar is entitled to a degree of praise when there is an upturn in fortune. He has had a stroke of luck with recent additions to the playing roster. Unforseen circumstances have resulted in Phelps,Obst and Gleeson arriving at the club bringing cohesion and structure to the side which we haven't seen for 3 or 4 years. Yes, he was fortuitous in the manner in which the team fell into place, but that is what happens sometimes, and whether by accident or design we can't deny that on the evidence of the past month Richard has made full use of the players he now has at his disposal.
The problem at the moment of course, is that none of us know whether we have genuinely turn a decisive corner and are capable of mounting a serious challenge at the very top of the game or whether we are just simply having a good month, similar to the one that Quins had in Feb/Mar.
From a personal point of view, I still have too many reservations and doubts about his ability to lead us to the summit. I'm sure that in the short term we are more than capable of beating anyone, as on Easter Monday. But I'm still not convinced that long term he is the right man for us. I still see him as a mid table coach when we really should be looking for the man who can take us to the stars.
I've been watching Hull Fc for far too many years and seen far too many false dawns and been let down and frustrated by them far too many times to ever get too carried away by a couple of decent results. I've enjoyed this last month, the results have been good, the games have been entertaining and the rugby on show from our team has at times been exciting to watch. But it's going to take a good deal more to convince this old cynic that this squad and this coach is capable of putting our club where it should be, at the top of the tree.
We need an inspirational figure to take us on a great leap forward and, recent results notwithstanding, I still do not believe that R.A. is that man. But I will give him credit for the past month and whatever any of us on here think, Richard Agar will now almost certainly be our head coach into 2012 and will in all probability see out his current contract at the very least.

Rich Agar said as much on Humberside yesterday - he wants another play maker and "you can never have enough creative players" in the team. Sounds promising.

Agar has said in the past couple of days that he's looking for a scrum half and to sign players in the more pivotal positions, which could mean a new fullback too.

I agree completely Jimmy the season lasts 27 games and it is the league position after that time that matters. There are "what ifs" in any season for all teams but two results - Cas at home and Wigan away (our equal best performance of the season along with Wire away) could and IMO should have gone our way. They didn't which means things are that bit harder. Progress has been steady but more is needed. The biggest missing element for us IMO is a grade A kicking game - Longy is B+ when he plays but if we could land a top kicker that would take us to the top tier I reckon.

The side has struggled over the years to score points , Our "for" column has been light years behind were it should be so it's good to hear the club are after some creativity within the side.
