| Quote ="His Bobness"Pearson is the sole owner of Hull FC but the club don't have a stadium and has no real assets. What exactly would any new 'investor' be buying other than your debts?
Rovers have several millionaire board members who have bought into the exciting project going on at Craven Park. Would they have come on board if the club didn't own the ground and surrounding land? Possibly not but they are all fully committed now and are supplying the best business brains...and money into Hull KR.
What is happening at Hull KR is built to last, you are going to have to get used to it.'"
The land around it? It's not worth anything, what are they going to do, put up a fancy money spinning hotel up on Preston Road, behind the Go-kart track?

| They have got a new screen on shipping containers now, to be fair.
And the burger van sells cans of Fanta apparently. Onwards and upwards.

| It’s clear that the one game barometer is the only one needed this season.
I wish it was different but there is no
catalyst coming.
Nothing can change for us this season.
I can see us finishing 10th at absolute best because of the Coach , Chairman and a small number of the players.
I’ve posted for a few years now that the common denominator in all this is AP
If this was a small company on the stock market then shareholders would have voted him out with no bonus
Think about it - would you have given Adam the job for this year ?
No one would as we’ve failed under his leadership
However it’s his money and fair play to the guy as he’s tried hard and gone through a lot of stress.
So hopefully he gets that extra investment from local business people.
So for me it’s a long season watching live every week from Melbourne and I may even be over again this year to see a match and spend some more cash on Merch

| Where are we going
Not were are….. lol
We lose at home to Broncos then
Smith may as well leave then
If Broncos are our only win and we lose
at Rovers then he may as well go then
Adam is more to blame than Smith almost. Adam is clearly a soft man manager who accepted this rubbish
for years under Radford and Hodgson

| Lots of people unhappy with the State of play and rightly so. We brought Smith in to turn things around. No signs yet but only 1 match in. IMO this year will be tough. But I believe as he's told us again and again there's no quick fix. It is gonna be rough. What's our choices? Get rid of him? . Some say don't go although I believe some don't go anyway. If we all stopped going we would have no club. So that's a good plan. Then what?. Some of us are just addicted to our team. Yes we complain we crumble etc. But we still go. We can't help it . It's in our blood..

Think this season will be similar to last season, more lows than highs, we will beat London and win a few games, but lose plenty too, particularly when we get a few injuries, like we have now.
We have to show some kind of improvement. Particularly
Discipline
Not let our heads go at a few behind
Young players embedding and looking like SL players.

| Agree with much already posted.
Take issue with the "we must buy tickets/buy merchandise or the club will fold" narrative, because it is this very behaviour that has enabled successive owners to milk the fanbase for minimal returns for a very long time.
The two cup wins (incredible as they were) papered over the huge cracks - the fact Radford clearly targeted the Cup every year meant our seasons ended when it did every year; they just went on longer when we got to the final.
Home form has been shocking for a very long time, atmosphere at the KCOM/MKM practically non-existent, and these crystal clear warning signs ignored because season pass sales, merchandise, etc - that is, the cash cows keep stumping up regardless
When I first started going to the Boulevard in the 70's, we were cr*p, but the (frankly poor/limited) players put the effort in and seemed like they cared. I have not seen or felt this for what, six seasons and counting?
Ask yourself as I have done, in what other part of your life would you continue to accept it?

I don't agree that 16/17 paper over the cracks, we not only won the cup but where very competitive in the league and probably should have won the GF in 17.
We built a good squad of overseas and local players and had a couple of good young players coming through. Unfortunately Radford made errors in recruitment and retention, released the wrong ones and kept some too long.
That should have been the start of a long successful period for our club, we just didn't get it right.

That is fair comment, although I think we sometimes have a collective memory gap of how poor we were under Radford immediately before the cup wins.
What is clear is that recruitment (Motu Tony obviously a large part of it) was crucial, and carried out very well; certainly has been very far from the case since.

Totally agree, it's clear Tony had a eye for talent or certainly had some good connections.

Good post…just seemed as though after 16/17 Radford had achieved the holy grail and took his eye of it and let the team slide and coupled with decisions on contracts and bringing players back and totally not trusting our youngsters.Who from the young ones did we let go…..Rawsthorne,Logan.kitten,Tyson-Wilson?Lancaster?..he’d sooner sign a Liam colbon than let youth have a go

Litten amd Abdul, both would have improved us then and now.
He didn't handle ever of them very well, also more or less gave them away, sure we swapped Litten for an academy winger called Speed.

This is one of the anomalies/curiosities of following a sporting club.
If you have a liking for a particular Tv program or Film franchise, and it starts to go off a bit, you tend to switch to watching something else that takes your fancy (maybe something similar or possibly something completely different).
Same with a particular band or singer. You might like a few records they make, but when they begin to lose their way a bit (as acts tend to do over time), you simply go find something/someone else to boogie along to.
But it's not like that when it comes to a sports team. I suspect most on here have been following their club (Fc in our case) since they were relatively young. Now, because we have hit one of our downturn periods, it isn't simply a case of upping sticks and trotting off to support another team, be it Wigan, Saints, Leeds or (god forbid!!) those from the dark-side.
In a sport like RL, you either follow one act for the rest of your days, or you walk away from the sport completely. There is no half-way house in this case.
You're right, in virtually every other aspect of our lives, none of us would accept the level of underperformance, certainly since 2017, that we have put up with.
But, as I said, it's a curious anomaly with sport, that you are either in or out completely, and I guess most of us on this board are still in (through habit, loyalty, blind faith, whatever?) hoping that from somewhere the club finds its way once again. We just can't quite see where the somewhere is right now! but we are hanging in there because we have nowhere else to go except to walk away from the sport completely.

That winter we decided to sign squad players just to fill the reserve team up was madness. I know the RFL were making noises that clubs supporting the Reserve league would be looked opon favourably but no other team in SL history has signed lower league players just to try and win a reserve league.

In fairness to the club we didnt need Abdull and Sneyd, and Sneyd was still fairly young there was no need for a younger replacement.
Also 6again has helped Jez Litten, and we werent to know that rule change was coming.

There is one qiuck fix which costs nothing but could make us into a team that competes and thats fix the indiscipline.
It cant be that difficult
Put a bucket in the changing rooms.have a tariff for red card,yellow card,six again,daft penalty,missed tackle,dropped ball.
You have to make the players think, concentrate and take responsibility on the field
You can put some changing room fun into it but cards are serious so start the red card at £100

| Pretty much agree with everything that has been said.
I’ve been going home and away for 20+ years barely missing a game. But this year I’ve got Catalans booked a couple of times but I can see them been my only away games this year.
At this moment in time I simply don’t get any joy out of watching Hull FC anymore (and rugby league as a whole for that matter the way it’s become).
I’m afraid another bad year and the way the game looks with the rules as they are to be next year. Adam could be set to lose a fair chunk off the attendances.

| Just read press release from Hull City that Pearson attended a meeting with Tan Kasler and the Council about redeveloping land around the MKM.
Feels to me we are in the long term plans for the stadium, which is a speck of good news amongst the gloom.

Think they need us involved to get this deal over the line. More likely to get approved should it benefit both clubs, hopefully the new deal gives us opportunity to earn some money from the stadium.

I'd be interested to see what the NRL think they would get out of that arrangement as I can't think of any obvious benefits for them. Unless it would open up the possibility of selling TV rights to Channel 9 or Fox over there to generate additional revenue.

Agree, a massive disadvantage for RL is our two biggest markets are on opposite sides of the world making even more games between the two leagues hard to arrange (and I can only imagine the score if we faced an NRL side )
I also think if we've started with the IMG plan we need to keep going with it, the game has a bad habit of chopping and changing strategy very quickly.
