Either way we might have wealthy owners but the money McNichol has ploughed into Rovers for seemingly no financial return is huge in RL terms like it or not they’ll be able to match or better any Hull offer. There’s absolutely no way Lewis joins Hull when he’s contracted until 2028. That is one move that’s certainly won’t happen regardless of marquee status. Even in an NRL scenario Rovers will have stipulations ensuring he rejoins them if they did let him go early.

They’d sooner fold the club then let him join Hull it’s pointless even discussing it.

Can’t force a player to play for you if he doesn’t want too .

Lewis will go to the NRL, well that was the plan before he got his Mrs pregnant anyway, so whether that changes things.

I hope Lewis does go to the nrl,would be hilarious,he’d be back in a year with 1 appearance,and lots of nsw cup experience

Sends a good message out to the players. The time for coasting at the club is over otherwise you won't be here.

Agree it is the correct stance to take, we have wanted brutal decision making at this club for some time and it appears we now have it. Plenty of rumours flying round today as to Abdulls situation, some paint him in a bad light, other pass blame on to previous employers. I suppose we will never truly know the full ins and outs. It would be interesting to know if Myler was behind the signing of Abdull, or if plans for him to join where in place prior to Mylers arrival. I do hope it was the latter.

If I was a player, it would certainly put me off.

We announced Abdul had signed on 5th June and Cartwright's appointment on 21st May. So only 2 weeks prior so it might be the deal was already in progress but we don't always announce signings straight away so it could have been already in the bag. We also need to consider that the takeover wasn't a done deal back then, signings may have been on the frugal side (Abdull had cap exemptions) than now where we have lots of money in the bank.
