Hi Faithful one, perhaps reward the top finisher with champions Tag they deserve, with a good financial reward.
Then the top eight can play off in a premiership finale, 1v8 example.
Scrap the mad Easter program and all its injury problems, also reconsider this Magic weekend money spinning nonsense, were some teams, mainly us end up in derbys, and Wigan and Saints don’t.

Your right, needs to be some motivation and advantage to finishing top, but Rugby leagues best and high quality games come in Play-off football, at the minute they is only 2 play off games, the semis! hence the quality and entertainment as been going down hill the last few seasons. Super 8s need to change

As long as you can keep Tim Sheens fit, you should be OK.

| What about winners of regular season starting on 14 points
2nd - 12
3rd - 10
4th - 8
5th - 6
6th - 4
7th - 2
8th - 0
Then it’s reward for where you finished in regular season plus allowing lower teams to have a chance of getting into the play offs.
But I’d rather scrap the 8s and just have 12 teams, home and away, 6 team play off like it was before franchising.

| The six team play offs I liked. 1 and 2 got 2 chances at it which I thought worked well.
I like a top 5 with 1 getting to the grand final and the winners of 2v5 and 3v4 playing each other, but I wonder how much momentum 1st place would lose not having a game for 3 weeks. This would give 1st place an extra incentive. There's no way we should scrap the grand final, it's one of 3 main money makers with Wembley and magic. I quite like the idea of the cc quarter finals being the new magic weekend, but the cost would dramatically increase for fans of they were only given a month's notice to book, as opposed to 6 months.

| The other thing they could do with Magic is to have a 9s tournament, since there is 9s world cups planned in the international calendar.
All teams play across both days, a bit like the Union 7s. First day the group matches, second day knockout matches and play off matches, (11/12th place play off, 9/10th place etc.)
Gets all 12 teams fans in the ground over both days and in there for the majority of the day too.

Yer, seen that mentioned a few times. It's something which I don't think I would have interest in. The previous attempt at a 9s tournament was fairly pathetic, teams just put their kids out which is fair enough, but I'm not sure I'd travel 2 hours and fork out for tickets, food, accommodation to watch that. If they took it as serious as some teams in the NRL do, with ex players playing etc then it could have some entertainment value. Not sure they'd get 60,000 though.

Supposed it comes down to how well it was marketed with regards to crowds, and maybe how much prize money they was for the winner to how teams treated it.

I agree with the GF and the Challenge Cup final, and the payments for winning or losing these competitions are transparent.
Not sure we’re the cash from the Magic Weekend goes, to pay big Nigel off perhaps.

Make it financially viable, attractive and most clubs would be pushing for it. The game needs to be more inventive. Another incentive would be if the winner or the top three are allowed extra on their cap. Or some such thing.

| It’s game of thrones with Sir Kev “not the coach” Sinfield waiting to drop his sword on squire Jim.
A great team in decline.

| Reading the Leeds forum I can't believe how confident most of them are that they won't be in any danger and will also win every single game in the middle 8s. They're an absolutely awful looking team (possibly even worse than us) at the moment and I can see them losing to Rovers and Salford, if not also Toronto and Tolouse. Wouldn't surprise me one bit to see them in the MPG.

Nope, home games were key for them, 2 wins max for them I reckon.
Leeds, KR and Toronto straight up.
Salford v Toulouse/London in million pound game.

| Interesting set of first round results, all the more so given Toronto and London still have 4 home ties each in the remaining fixtures.
