I haven't got my finger on the pulse as who may or may not be available but my preference would be to promote one of the youngsters or take Calderwood on a pay as he plays basis or someone like Aaron Murphy who has been linked to the club a few times over the last year. I realise that might not be possible though.

My main concern about signing someone like Meli is his age and the possible waste of a quota spot. We've signed some decent wingers (on paper and they were old) in recent seasons but we don't play the kind of rugby were we'd get the full value out of an expensive signing on the wing.

Meli would not count on the quota, i believe he is exempt just like Manu

Meli - Cant believe paeople would be happy with another player coming in with his best days behind him whos won eveything and has nothing to achieve anymore and would simply be here for his final big paycheck.

Berrigan - Despite the constant cobblers Expro speaks about Berrigan he has been a poor signing and has not represented good value for money imo. He's obviuosly got issues in his personal life and would be best if he went home to sort them imo then lets get McShane in.

He is top try scorer at St Helens, Imagine him and Briscoe on the wing/centre i think would make a good combo.

Think Meli is a different type of winger compared to Sing and Blacklock in particular as he doesnt have to rely on good service to get your moneys worth from him due to how effective he is clearing his own line from dummy half and his kick returns.

Absolutely spot on , top player , bang on form and worth every penny should he come to FC

We should keep him. Doing a great job in many positions. We shouldn't look to build a squad around imports. They should be the icing on the cake as it were... Most are here around 2 years, thats not stable enough.

i'd be sorry to see him go but as it stands he can be replaced by a hooker to complement houghton. the rest could got towards a half back

the main thing that has disappointed me about hull fc is the fact that we've not had a settled half back partnership in years and for me there is alot more potential in our squad that could be realised
