I’d still expect you to finish above us, but for the first time in a while, I don’t think it’s a given. I reckon 5th or 6th would be about a decent par effort for you, 7th or 8th for us. But you never know. Bienek and Matongo might make great leaps in their progress or we might have a lucky year injuries or any number of other things. I’m looking forward to it. I might even change my avatar to something indicating greater optimism!

both teams should improve on last years placings maybe kr slightly more,a very tough league next year,as london will find out

Sorry if I got the wrong end of the stick but you said "the club got amazingly luck with the recruitment in 2016 & 2017" can you expand on that?

I missed the "Y" off lucky which maybe was why it didn't read right. I meant that the transformation in the squad and quality of recruits was way beyond what we could have expected and only really achievable due to motu tony being in place and I doubt we'll ever replicate that kind of recruitment in one off season again

Really looking forward to the London weekend being back on again and a trip to continental Europe in sunny June.

In the first two years TS has been our coach we have achieved our objectives. Promotion and retaining SL status. He is recruiting for the future as well as the present and I expect us to maintain our progress by finishing higher than the 9th in the regular season in 2018. Not bold enough to say how much higher though.

Not really interested in where FC finish but it would be nice if it is below us.

Chuckling at some of the posts on here is not the same as being interested in where you finish.

Don’t think your pack will get you in the top four. That is a view held by a number of your own supporters. Your views on where both teams will finish reflects your hopes I would have thought rather than a considered expectation. Still time will tell.

Exactley, it has slightly more depth and Westerman is more or less a new signing.

A couple of players are older, but the young players will be better for last year.

Still don't think we are good enough to challenge, but certainly not out of he question.

Lets be honset for some Rovers fans, the off season is their only chance to gloat, as by the time they have played a few games, it's back to reality of looking up at their neighbours.

Yeah, I meant older as in towards the end of their career and injuries becoming more common, the likes of Mini, Paea and Manu

Ill take my red n white glasses off, i think on paper Hull have probably got the stronger 1_17 than we do but when injuries bite again what then?
Pinning your hopes on not getting as many injuries is crazy and IMO an excuse waiting to happen.

Another interesting thought is that your going into the new season on the back of an 11 game losing streak, if you lose the first couple of games heads could drop and it could be a tough long season who knows. Im pretty sure in most sports after that run youd have a new coaching team in place though with fresh ideas.

I think like most teams we can cope with a few injuries, but last year was silly, I know a few other teams had it as bad, but I don't think its much of a coincidence that Warrington, Wigan and Saints were up there and they didn't have it as bad as others, Cas did exceptionaly well to be fair with the injuries they had.

Any players who had the key players we had out would have struggled, our squad is Ok, I'm more worried about our starting pack and lack of pace than our ability to cope with a few injuries.

I kind of agree about your pack but players like Ellis and Watts are hard to replace, Paea i think its fair to say we had his best days too, Taylors top quality but you defo need another quality prop. Ive been watching rugby for 30 years and Hull have always had great packs but i wouldnt say that about this pack though, im not saying Rovers pack is better by the way.
As for pace, Hull havent had real pace for a while now, you strike me as the type of team that score a lot from kicks and a lot from barge overs so maybe pace isnt an issue
