Well if you take Nobby (won several G/Finals) out of that equation you are correct but most of the amatuer coaches are better than the Brits

I think Gentle will go well over here but like I said personally I want a coach with a proven track record at delivering results.

I was one of those who quoted him, but I would not classify my posts as slagging him off. I was just pointing out the nonsensical nature of what he was saying, seeing as he was claiming it as a way to undermine another poster with his 'inside knowledge'. Whilst some do go over the top with him, I tend not to respond to him but the nature of his posts and behaviour sometimes warrants being called out.

Also, I actually did use the ignore function for his previous incarnation (it's the only poster I've ever done that for). As a result it made navigation of threads a pain at times, as because he tends to post in flurries and dominate pages of threads it meant sometimes only getting 4-5 posts per page. A real ballache when viewing the forum via phone.

Fair point Martha, just don't think Noble is the coach for us. I just want an Aussie coach.

Appointing noble would end up; being another mistake IMO. Would be better than agar but not good enough for what we need and, if rumours are true, not very popular with most of the players he's coached

I think most of the coachless teams next season will be appointing Aussies which could work out great but is a gamble and may not work out as they are not all Mcguires which seems to be everyones thinking. Nobby on the other hand knows SL inside out and knows how to get a team to peak at the right time and would hit the ground running. After what weve put up with the last few years we need some stability and i reckon Nobby could steady the ship with next years squad then get us challenging when we bring in some more players in 2013. For me its a no brainer - It has to be Noble!
