| Quote ="Obadiah"I don't think you've got that wrong. Can you see Assem Allam paying for the bubble pitch, removing the 3g pitch and repairing the damage?
Unlikely as it may seem I can see the council helping the SMC so they can say they've saved the Airco for the people of Hull. In the meantime Hull City AFC get their academy.'"
Nope, can't believe that's true. Are you suggesting the consequences of breach of contract, expensive and deliberate damage to a council asset, eviction of community tenants are:
1) Making good the arena damage
2) Waving through planning consent of a new pitch
3) Funding 1) and 2) above, which then yields one of the subtenants, a private limited entity, hundreds of thousands in incremental FA funding?
Simply can't be right. Where are the consequences of the unreasonable actions? Unless the costs are recharged to the SMC who then pass on in part to FC. In which case the consequences are fairly obvious.

| Surely now that the teams who have previousy used the Airco have been 'evicted' they will either have found an alternative venue or folded. Changing the arena back to its previous state will have little or no benefit to them after being months? without a venue.
If the CC pay for anything to do with the arena or for that fact the KC it will be a complete farce and heads should roll.

Well, that's what Obadiah is suggesting, to the point of the council bankrolling a facility to unlock cash for Hull City. I hope Phil visits soon to put Obadiah right.

Apart from the extent of the funding for 1 and 2, if any, and the bill landing on FC's doormat, then yes, that is what I'm suggesting. Whether it is right in the moral sense is another matter.
I understand that the rent for FC is fixed and dependent upon its attendances.

To the year ending 30 June 2014 £4.3 million. Although that may include income other then renting the KC.

I think its the same as FC. A percentage of the gate receipts. I don't know the formula but it's what I understand to be the case from previous discussions on the not606 board.

| @angus_young61: £300,000 donation Labour by Assem Allam last month, according to new @ElectoralCommUK figures.
Interesting context to the sudden change in visible council appetite for action?

Had a feeling something like the had happened. Local Labour councillors under orders from central office.
It stinks. Allam is about as far as you can get form being a Labour supporter - his donations have completely unassociated ulterior motives, imo. Shame on the Labour party for entertaining him, he represents everything they traditionally stand against.

| Circumstantial perhaps, but Webbo's gone AWOL too after being pretty outspoken and unequivocal about the legal action. Here they sang about tomorrow, but tomorrow never came?

I think you'll be waiting a long time. It looks like they are doing a behind closed doors deal. Or he may be busy with the election.

I suspect you're right. Given the extreme, excitable and frequent responses to a suggestion the council were rolling over though, I sort of thought there might be some sort of clarification. Any insight on the deal, do you think the £300k Labour donation was a timely boost?

I think they have wanted a deal since before Cllr Geraghty meet him. They've chased him and he's always said no. They can now threaten him and get a deal, they hope.

What kind of deal? They already have a deal for him to run the KC with no financial risk to the council. What else do they want?

They want to develop the area around West Park. They also want a deal to get the Airco back into community use. I think they'd like to be involved in City's success as well.
Another explanation may be they are expecting new owners shortly and have stepped back from the legal action to see what happens.
