No, not at all. I think each have their own importance to the team that is equal to a "6". If Chase was an organiser aswell then it might be different, but he's not. Chase is a very good "off the cuff" sort of player, very much like Danny McGuire imo. Just not as good.

I did hear it. And it's probably rubbish. But as others have mentioned Leeds interest in Tom today, I thought I'd toss it into the pot anyway.

But lets face it - why[i wouldn't[/i Leeds be interested in Tom? Most clubs, if they could afford it, would be. That's not to say Hull hasn't told them to take a running jump.

all i was told was there was a fee offered for both players.if any of our players are involved in a deal,then it wasn't mentioned!!

I dont expect the Chase/Westerman rumour to happen for one minute but what a statement of intent this would cause if they did. If Hull are serious about becoming one of the league big boys then an audious big money offer should be on the table, an offer that Cas may find too tempting. Transfer fees do not count on the salary cap and we know we are making a profit so lets show some ambition...

I don't see Cas letting either go without a fight, or a lot of cash.

Well lets hope our club is willing to offer cash of fight for a player that will make a genuine difference.

I would be happy with Westerman as well. A sure sign of a more attacking pack for next season and would be prepared to offer Washy and Burnett in exchange.

Dont believe for a minute the board will get their hands in their pocket to pay a fee for Westerman and Chase, but what a pair of signings if we did....One can only dream.

As good a season as he had, I'd still snap Cas' hand off if they offered a swap for Fitzgibbon (obviously this is all happening in an alternate plane of reality where Matterson and the Cas board have gone mental). A player with 1 year left before retirement in a position we're reasonably strong in vs an exciting, creative halfback with likely 7 or 8 years of rugby left in him. No brainer for me, that one.

I don't see what all the fuss is about Chase,the kid is 24? and I don't know the length of deal hes on at Cas but hes a kiwi and quota players at his age either get homesick at some stage or want to try their hand at the NRL again.
If we splash out say 100k on him on a 3 year deal that money would have been better spent on a young English half that could potentially be around for 10 years or so or use a quota spot to sign just a good a player from Australia as Chase is good but no world beater and still turns in average games without the fee involved.

Don't know if this has been mentioned but stuartpykesport on twitter is saying we have 2 overseas players coming in. He's the BBC sports reporter. Whos leaving ???
