Can't see Sneyd wanting to move or commute back to Hull. Obviosuly he will be worried about Salford financial state but with the advance in TV money surely his 2025 pay is secure.

Also would be silly for Salford to sell him first, his goal kicking alone generates a few wins a season.

I’m sure he’ll find a new club. I like Jack and thought he was one of our better players last season.

I expect he’ll end up at Bradford. I think they’ll be the ones pushing for honours in the Championship next season and a push for a SL place, especially with the additional IMG points that a GF and 1895 Cup win would bring. He’d be a great signing for them.

Rovers will be able to offer him silly money for one last pay day, travelling might not be ideal but RL players really need all the big pay days they can get, I’d be pleasantly surprised if it doesn’t happen.

That depends on how much he's paid and how many minutes a club get's out of him. I suspect his salary at Hull was a little over-inflated to start with.

One of the drawbacks with Walker is that he's an out & out full-back, he is no where near as effective in any other position, and with the recruitment of Rapana he'd basically become either a back-up FB or a stop-gap emergency cover in one of the other back spots where, as I said, he doesn't operate any where near as well.

Taking into account his salary, I suspect that's why the club have released him. Mis-management of cap space has been one of our regular failings over the years so we can hardly blame the club for making decisions of this nature if they calculate it's in the best interests of the business.

Like you say, there is a suspicion he was possibly on an over-inflated salary, especially given his past injury record, which unfortunately for him will probable have worked against him in this case.
I think he is still more than capable of playing at SL level, but given the circumstances, we are not in a position to have someone of his ilk on the books merely to provide back-up cover. A tad harsh on him in truth, but I'm afraid that is how it pans out sometimes. We'd need more out of him to justify keeping him within the 2025 squad.
Hopefully he will find another club soon as he seems a decent enough lad.

Leigh now in for Sneyd it seems, surely a better bet for him in terms of travel and being bought a drink ever again in West Hull

I heard today that Leigh have made an enquiry and are really keen to offer money, that's certainly much more suited to Sneyds living arrangements. Interesting to see Mr Beaumont looking to poach a clubs best players when they are down, kettles and pans comes to mind!

I might be doing him a massive disservice but seen his name banded about a lot, but would Cross really be that big an upgrade on Chamberlain at centre? They’re the same age, play the same positions and spent most of their careers in the lower leagues, very similar career paths. He always looks a good solid player to be me but never stands out as much as Lafai or Macdonald in that backline and they’ve also signed Marsters who they obviously rate higher.

If we are talking about dream scenarios and we could somehow find a quota spot I’d sooner we’d just use it on more of an attacking strike centre.

Its still a bit of an into the unknown situation of course but if it happens for those of us who just want a team that is as passionate as we are to support for the rest of our lives, its the best Christmas present we could get. As for CEO of course they will wouldn't you? They are not here to run the club on a day to day basis but will want to stamp their mark on it and have some control over the economics of it. I expect Adam will fill the void in the mean time.
