There are 3 actually...Vue,Reel and Odeon......lets just forget it and let it go to pot like New york across the road...they spent all that money on the front of the station but if you come out the side entrance on to Anlaby road it looks a right dump.

The night seen in Hull is awful. It's alarming just how different things are if you make the short hop to either Leeds or York.

The building looks pretty cool and its location mean it should be "prime real estate" as they say in the US and in any other city it would be, but as soon as you cross over to Anlaby road, it'[s a right dump at the town centre end.

That area around Tower is rough as f00k and nobody in their right mind would go to that place even if it was restored to its former glory. This is almost as bad Rovers asking the council to build them a super stadium for the east!

People have tried to re open cinemas before, does anyone remember cecil reopening, just after odeon got built ? Financially it just won't work, the big cinema chains would just swallow it up. How about turning it back to it's prime ? the fat birds stripping on a Monday night, feet sticking to the floor, getting a good grope with a pig dog twice as old as you, before getting booted out by big Duncan Woods. God I miss Tower

I remember talking to him a few years back when bun had moved accross next to Shire, a weird but very funny guy. Is he still there ? Every city needs a Tower for an hour !!!!!!

Sadly, I think he's not, hopefully he retired, but I honestly don't know. He certainly was a character.

get it open as a gig venue again and get some bands to play - there's a gap in the market in hull between the small bands (adelphi) and the more established acts (city hall)
would be a very similar venue to the leadmill in sheffield or the met in leeds

Went to a gig there back in the day to see Ocean Colour Scene supported by the Small Faces. Was a brilliant night.

That idea has merit, but the idea that some niche cinema would work is, well, potty!
