well if nothing else he is certainly a student of the science of sport and training methods and obviously respected a bit with the clubs and international teams he has been allowed to shadow. .

Impressive and articulate first interview IMO. If nothing else he will bring self confidence and energy with a commitment to raising standards across the board as well as strengthening the squad. As you say interesting that he has spent time in France and also with Eddie Jones understanding his winning culture - this appetite to take broad perspectives and learn from others I imagine has been a key factor in his appointment.

Until we see the bloke's team on the field he's an unknown quantity as was Holbrook and Mcguire, he could well end up being a Stone or Furner too.

Came across really well in his first press conference.

Signing a 6 looks to be a priority, I'd imagine/hope this will happen sooner rather than later.

While I warmed to Andy Last and the obvious job he did in turning us around, I'm quite pleased with this appointment, those who are underwhelmed need to get abit more realistic, when the sky deals reducing by 240k and we've lost a fortune in gate receipts etc we were never signing an expensive Aussie coach.

This for me after hearing people's opinions of him is he next best thing, he may be a gamble , he may turn out crap, but looks like he knows his stuff tactically and seems a real student of the game. So will hopefully solve a lot of the things we bemoan on here regularly. Itl also be good to have a fresh pair of eyes with no biased who can release what needs releasing and identify and hopefully sign quality in the areas we need to improve.

Hodgson certainly comes across well in that Radio Humberside interview. Confident and eloquent. Seems to know what he wants and what he expects.

Got to admit i am yes - yesterday i was like wtf as weve had too many failed assistants but today after seeing that video i feel much better about it

I wanted the club to go Australian and as bad as i feel for Last i didnt want us to go down that route so yeah im now 100% behind Hodgson and FC and the new era!

Have to say I’m impressed with Hodgsons interviews so far. What seems clear from what BH has said is that he will demand the players put 100% into what they do at all times.
Also alluded to inconsistency can be down to level of effort put in to training.
Think some players may find it a bit of an awakening.

I just hope they don't do what they did with Peter Sharp and stage a bit of a rebellion because things get too strict, look at the decline that happened when he left.

In Brett Hodgsons interview with radio Humberside he said Ellis is going to be the defence coach and Purtill the attack.

"I’m very confident with having both Gareth and Kieron in there in assistant roles and we can move forward".

Hodgson looks better qualified in terms of the depth and variety of his experience than Radford when he took over and he gave us two Challenge Cup wins. I look forward to what we might achieve with him in charge and am happy with the appointment.
Thanks to Andy Last for what he has done in very difficult circumstances. If he wants to stay he I hope he is happy with whatever position the club can offer; alternatively it may be time to take a bold step elsewhere in which case I wish him well.

lol he has never failed n his coaching career ? was a top player and man of steel so never failed as a player ? he should bring a more attacking brand of rugby as a former pivot imo so i am optimistic . i remember shaul improving after a couple of training sessions with him under radders so what might he achieve with our Jake ?
