It's like they don't want to afford players a fair hearing so punish them for contesting the charge.

Things like this really make me question whether this sport is worth following any more. It's run by assorted clowns and madmen (with the odd notable exception) and continually conducts itself like a farce.

Doubt it made any difference whatsoever. When the panel can apply a punishment below the minimum allowed for the offence just because a player says pretty please all bets are off.

Is it the RFL that has the clause in its "club rules" that says if a member club challenges/sues it, they can be kicked out of the club? Way to keep everyone quiet.



That said, I would hope that the clubs could get together and challenge the disciplinary panel approach and get something fairer, consistent and more sensible in place. At the moment, it wouldn't look out of place with Brian Rix as chairman.
