| [size=150Hudgell said[/size - it would be shrewd to keep all options open and added: "Whilst we still have a private landlord to deal with in any negotiation for development of this facility, we must always look to have options to explore rather than be held to ransom if the price for facilitating that development becomes unrealistic.
Self explanatory to me, Hudge is playing one off against the other - As usual.
They wouldn't come to the KC in the thousands that's for sure, the same way we wouldn't go to anything that had their name on it.

| No issue with them renting what is a community stadium...but can't see why they'd want to, they can't even get 9K despite signing "RL's David Beckham" so why they would need a 25K ground is beyond me!

| I just don't see logistically how three teams could occupy the stadium accommodating all the fixtures and potential cup ties, replays etc as well as satisfy the Football League/Premier League, FA and RFL not to mention the scheduling requirements of Sky, BBC, ITV and potentially ESPN too.

The headline from the Burns/Allam interview was about 'a merger'. But the more striking thing from it was when Allam said 'I am not a rugby man'. Anyone even contemplating dealing with this guy from either pro club in Hull should be very very wary indeed. He has no interest in rugby league - just his own business interest.

| Could they afford pay the full market rent at the KC?.
Also, if I was the Council I would be very interested in the comments. Maybe they should pull the funding on the new stand until their intentions are clear.
Sounds to me like Grudgell is wanting some of his "loans" to Hull KR paying back & is desperate for income. Vanity projects don't come cheap.

Currently Rovers are beneficiaries of a peppercorn rent arrangement courtesy of the council via KCD and pay some basic pitch maintenance/stewarding costs. I don't know whether they've paid anything towards the East Stand extension, or whether it's all from the NHS and the RFL, but they are taking on debt of £1.9m plus interest for the North Stand. On top of that it sounds like KCD are looking to increase the rent on land that used to house the Golf Stand and will now house the North Stand development. So they've got 2 lots of increased facilities costs over and above what they pay now. Perhaps they are weighing up the risk of not generating enough income to cover these extra costs against a more fixed rental arrangement at the KC which, if they could afford it, would be much less of a ball-ache to contend with than the risk of £2m+ additional debt. The only problem is whether Rovers fans would be happy with a "home" west of the river already occupied by their much-disliked rivals.

It makes their massive outlay on players wages look even more foolhardy. They have tried to run before they could walk it seems. I can't see their increased costs being met by increased numbers through the gate anytime soon. Let's be honest, they must be desperate in some way to even contemplate moving to the KC. Pride of East Hull indeed.

IMO it's just feigned interest as a rent negotiation bargaining chip. They are very confident that there are thousands waiting for the East Stand extension to be completed. They wouldn't be pressing ahead with the ground developments if they were contemplating a move to the KC. The East Stand extension is moving at pace I hear, which is evidence in itself.

I'm pretty happy how things are at FC thanks. Turning over a profit year after year & five figure crowds every home game. You wouldn't mind "muck" like that.

It's a bit like "Field of Dreams" - "if you build it, they will come"
Once the East Stand is completed, I expect crowds on a par with Brisbane Broncos.

Yes thats true - however as long as my club is being secured financially with genuine fans/shrewed business men at the helm and bringing world class players like Willie Mason over I'll not complain.
