Disappointing in a way but as long as he keeps performing to the end of the season I'll be more than happy. Player recruitment and retention is never easy with older players but I'd rather he left one year too early rather than one year too late.

If you go back to his NRL days, his St George side were amongst the favourites most years he was there with what was widely considered the strongest squad in the competition. He still won knack all. As good a job as he's done with Hudds, he's still yet to prove he's capable of doing more than being a runner up.
