| If he was going to build something substantial plus complex etc etc then he'd be looking at closer to £100-150M. Rebuilding the KC stadium from scratch would cost around 20% more as it isn't a shed put together like warrington's or St.Helens stadium.
He hasn't got the money nor the backing to be able to afford the venture.
City would need to be a permanent fixture in the premiership for 10 years+ to get even close to paying even a smidge amount back on it and given the increase in wages and likely struggle to stay up it just isn't a viable business plan and full of huge risks.
He's seriously full of bull and if the council had one single brain-cell between them they'd see right through him. Sadly that council members are already washing their hands of the matter and their responsibilities to the people of Hull it could all end up getting very very nasty/messy.

The council can see through him, know what he's like and dislike him.. They are just powerless and gave more important things on their minds then getting involved in a legal battle over a stadium!!

| Aother factor that should be borne in mind is if he simply walks away from the SMC, how will that sit with the FA's "fit & proper person test"?

| The good thing to come out of this is that we've provided a media contact list for the unofficial Rovers forum which is now launching a "Fairness and Equality for ALL" campaign saying we're:
1 Bending franchise rules by including subsidised premier seats in our attendance figures
2 Getting "perks, privileges and benefits" whilst Rovers are reliant on the goodwill and finance of Hudgell and Crossland.
A couple of questions, then.
Is 1) true? Are we cheating on the numbers?
2) Personally I'd welcome visibility on the rental that Rovers pay on Craven Park council-owned land. Would be embarrassing if that rental agreement was a peppercorn one, but we do need all the details to make a comparison. We already know, of course, that the council purchased CP fom Rovers when in administration to allow them to continue to trade. And that the council have taken out prudential borrowing of £ms to build the North Stand. And that the council aren't liable for any losses the SMC make.
Agitating for greater visibility of all our clubs' beneficial (or otherwise) arrangements enabled by the council is a good idea.

While the test has become something of a joke, often involving mention of Thaksin Shinawatra, in fairness its terms are objective if a bit narrow. Basically, it would sit just fine. The disqualifying events are listed on Wikipedia.

Rovers fans do have very selective memories don't they?. Have they forgotten how the Council wrote off thousands of pounds of unpaid Council Tax?. Or the cheap land they bought off the Concil for their "Stadium". Or the covenants the Council lifted so they coluld sell some of the land off. Or the interest free loan fron the Council owned "Wastewise". Or the peppercorn agreement they have on their current ground?. Or the financial assistance from the Concil for a stand they won't fill?.
At least FC pay their way for the use of the KC.

I think we just leave them to make themselves look petty, this is about Hull FC and the SMC, nothing to do with our poor relations across the river.

The clue is in the words ' follow the campaign already underway'.
Clearly you were so quick to dive on here that you missed it.
Also so far it is one poster mentioning it and almost everyone else saying 'nah'

Whilst all of the above is true, the problem I have found is that most Rovers fans weren't around when it was all happening, hence the need to go into 2 CVA's

| So we have some soundites out of our favourite egyptians but what do we really know?
Does anyone know if the galpharm is running at a massive loss? Older stadium, 2 lesser supported teams presumably paying less in rent, however jointly run by both tenants and the council. Do we have any visibility on the income and expenditure of the SMC - why are they making £1/2m a year loss? Where is the money going. How much did the pointless electronic turnstyle system cost and are they atributing any of that to us?
Next, the claim that they are subsidising "rugby related activities" to the tune of £200k a year seems unlikely. If we're paying £600k then there is no way it costs £800k to host 13 rugby matches and give us a bit of office and shop space.
£70k loss on food and catering for us? How? The catering is outsourced and unless they're paying for something they're not using then I fail to see how they can lose money - what about the bars which are always packed on match day?
And what's this £100k they give us for premier club tickets? they're a grand a pop I think so why are they buying 100 from us? Is it because city premier club supporters can attend our matches and this is to compensate us?
Fact is that pearson believed that he could get a better deal out of the SMC so I'm pretty sure that he thinks that the SMC should be making a profit and the fact they aren't is probably down to some creative accounting (Who would want to make a profit on the SMC and potentially pay tax whilst losing money hand over fist on a 2nd rate football team) and also the fact that some of their previous income streams seem to have disappeared? £80k + a year from the council, sponsorship gone from the arena, arena no longer being used as much. Anyone know how many non sporting events are held there any more?
Way more to this than meets the eye IMO. My view it's allam posturing with the council - he's engineered a mssive loss to put the council on the spot and force their hand - and the fact that it's hitting pearson is an added bonus for him.

I usually agree with you anyway, Jake, but this is a great post. What a pity that intellect, appetite or basic investigative challenge is so lacking in the HDM that these questions won't get asked. Far easier to print statements verbatim with a massive headline than to spot inconsistencies and ask probing, tenacious questions.

| Premier Club members can't attend Hull FC games unless they pay extra to do so.
Ehab wants all of the SMC's terms out in the open, it seems very odd that Adam hasn't agreed to this yet.
Presumably it's because he's been gagged, kidnapped, or has become a mute, or maybe he just can't get into work until he's hired a chauffer. ARF!

So you're saying that AP has actually turned down this request from Ehab?
Funny that as of Friday night, nobody from the SMC had contacted Hull FC with regards to the current issues.

I believe that what was said was that he challenged Hull FC to waive the confidentiality clause. No offer was made to waive THEIR confidentiality clause.

Why would anyone agree to buy unused tickets from the club? Are you really as thick as you seem or is it merely an act?

I've no idea what the deal is, neither do you, I merely stated that Premer Club members at City don't get access to Hull FC games. What part of that is thick?
