I think they'd have won tonight if they'd had Perry, Wellens and Shenton on for the full game. Just as we would have won had Graeme Horne not conceded that penalty just before half time in 2006.

I'd say the opposite actually. They've done it by almost the toughest route possible with the best "big game" mentality over 4 games of any team. Whilst Burrow will take the plaudits tonight, Sinfield must be pushing up the list of most influential players of the SL era. I wanted Saints to win, but can't take anything away from Leeds who were worthy winners. Wilkin anonymous too. Shame, that.

Haven't Leeds just won the super league play offs,(AKA the GF winners) Warrington won the Super league itself? There is a distinction IMO.

Yep you are right. One team won a hub cap the other a massive silver trophy infront of an audience of millions and goes on to play the Aussie champs.

As much as I hate to admit it, Leeds are a true champion team. They know how to play the big games and build to a big finish. Its pointless peaking constantly like Wire and Pies did this year as its about the final few weeks not the 27 rounds before hand. If Leeds had had McGuire, Burrows, Senior, Peacock all season I am certain they would have finished higher than 5th. Thats the competition we run and despite some faults it creates a fantastic finish.

If only we could compete for it.

Although I didn't want Leeds to win, credit where credit is due. They won it the hard way.



Ta least we can now take some consolation in that we lost to the Champions.

Breaking back into the Top Four next season may be too soon for the Pearson Revolution, however at least Leeds have now set a precedent that shows it's not where you finish, but how you finish that matters!

At the end of the day, the history books only ever show who won the title!

For the likes of you, us, Catalans and Rovers who have been struggling to even make the play-offs all season, this format offers our only realistic chance of winning SL. If you had won the title from 8th place, would you give a stuff that the Wolves only got a hubcap for finishing top of the table?

I think it is good for the league that someone outside of the top2/3 has finally won it, as it now gives belief to those teams further down the ladder.

I also think the playoff system gave a big enough advantage to the top4, and it is the top4's fault that none of them performed well enough on the day.

Fantastic game and probably the best GF we've had. I feel the turning point was Shenton's injury, three tries came down that side once he went off. Burrow was superb and his try was sensational.

Sinfield is a great talker nut his speech was slightly odd last night. He said the Leeds fan were the best in the world then had a pop at all the doubters, surely they are one and the same!!
