Couple of points...

If Hull were to make a habit of this kind of thing, I might have a concern. As a one-off I think it makes little difference.

Moa was signed when we were looking short on props and there were concerns over our pack size. He's now looking less necessary. Hindsight is great.

Theres Lovegrove,Gene and Ben McFisher at least are giving youth a chance like Houghton,Burnett,Lee,Hall,Briscoe and G.Horne. 13 out of Hull 17 are English it will be interesting to see over the next two years how certain teams develop as the overseas quota reduces and reduces. To be fair Rovers have got alot of english players who have come through there academy like Cooke

,Wheeldon

,Briscoe

,Fox

and Cockayne

. At least Moa is coming over at a young age and we havent a people like Menzies who is 35.

I agree, especially as Hull are getting better at it.



What personal match favs - 40-20s, individual runs, big tackles etc - which
aren't in the highlights will certainly be featured in the DVDs. Issue 1 feat. the first 4 matches plus extras should be out before the end of March.

This is the point I've been trying to make recently. I'm not for one minute agreeing with GG at this stage, but conversely how on earth have you seen enough in half an hour to be so blindly convinced of Moa's potential?

The entire culture of snap judgements on players amongst many Hull fans is quite frankly laughable IMO.

I agree with you there however the biggest cheer of the afternoon greeted him onto the pitch and you could just about feel the earth move when he hit Burgess, so as a crowd pleaser and a bit of a side show he is doing fine and a few will come on Friday just to have a look! His contract payment is very small and he is obviously enjoying being here. For me the jury is still out but he has shown more promise in 25 minutes than a certain other project showed in a full season!!

tbf i can see where gg is coming from, if crocker and lauaki get here we'll have 8 overseas players in the squad.

imo thats to many and hopefully we'll stay inside the rfl restirctions for 2010 and beyond but agar has to assemble the best squad he can and within the rules but if the rfl keep changing the rules what can he do?

That's still arguable really, and this is what amazes me. In terms of attitude he's definitely streets ahead. However, if we're basing how much playing promise he has on such a small window of game time as we've seen, how about we compare it to a similar-sized example of Maiava, say the Saints and Wigan games?

Don't think he will be playing as we will have taken delivery of one of the Aussie games best impact forwards by then!

I agree with your general point, but I would also add that Moa looks a whole lot fitter than Hutch did when he came over. That coupled with his size and attitude leads me to think he will be better.

Not a difficult target to aim at, mind.

His popularity with the crowd isn't really that difficult to fathom. He's big, puts in some big hits, has a good attitude, and has an 'amusing' name. He was bound to be a crowd pleaser if he turned in even half-decent performances.

Unless there is a huge injury crisis its difficult to see him playing SL at all this season and only being on a one year deal i'd be very surprised if it was renewed. If that did happen i would be hugely disappointed for the lad.

We are only seeing them on match days dont forget, Agar is obviously making his judgements on the day to day stuff as well. There is no real rush on either player but Moa does appear to be able to contribute to how Agar sets out his game plans at the mo and is doing what is asked of him.

TBF to Agar he has also stated he thought it would take Maloney a while to adapt to a full time environment.

Totally agree, there was an element of sarcasm in my post. He does look to have good potential, I just despair at the fact many seem incapable of distinguishing between 'potential' and 'finished article' and seemingly considering him ready enough to retain his place. His fitness is possibly higher than Maiava's was, but then again we at least got 2 spells from him. And again, why was Maiava's fitness a source of major criticism yet Moa's isn't even enough to consider his inclusion questionable?

I trust my judgement on things like this and dont count it as a snap judgement. The guy is obviously not fit but he has shown enough in the 2 games he has played to justify for me his signing and the opportunity he is getting.

I actually find the culture of constant negativity by some fans frankly laughable too!

He won't be around for much longer.
