The more you read and find out about last year's pre season and training, the more amazed I am that Grix is still here[/quote:2t12d6mo]
To be honest its more amazing that we actually won any games with training consisting of a whole 3 or 4 hours a day. Although we already knew that training was very lax with little to no structure in place and certainly no accountability in any aspect, it's still astounding to hear our thoughts about the previous set up confirmed.
And whilst Smith and his henchman paid the price quite rightly with the sack, why on earth didn't Grix make the changes to have them in for training full time........

In terms of talent and depth, there is no way the Hull FC squad of 2024 should have won only 3 games. If was pretty poor, but I thought it’d win something like 6-12 games, most likely somewhere in the middle of that range. There was clearly something else as well.
Tbh, for all that the squad has been completely changed, most of the inevitable improvement in 2025 will, I strongly suspect, come from better fitness and training around the ruck, rather than a massive uplift in talent.

| Looks like Sneyd could be signing for Leigh. Sat on the fence regards Sneyd. Certainly would improve us but rumoured 3 year deal for Leigh which I wouldn't be happy with. Wouldn't be devastated if he signed for them. Hopefully we can get Cross over the line soon. Would certainly add a bit of pace to the centres. Then fingers crossed another signing to add. We could finish up with a backline
Moy
Barron
Rapana
Cross
Martin
Now that's a pacey young backline

| [quote="Tarquin Fuego"]Grix ran almost all the season and didn’t have the notion to increase fitness mid season, which can be done !
He also was responsible for the worst rugby ever served up by FC in 150 years
To be fair to Grix by the time he took over we had loads of injuries and suspensions so not so many training at all

You can't read too much into pre seasons, Wigan beat us 40-0 last year...and we beat them when it mattered in the league (we'll just ignore how both teams respective seasons went)

| Let’s see how our discipline is in the Cas game
Regardless of the result v Cas we have to give less penalties and 6 agains away
Stop dropping the ball
Don’t kick dead
Don’t be offside in D
Etc etc

| Salford stuck 40 on Saints today.
Who's most at risk for the chop, Wellens or McNamara?

Easily wellens, probably the reason they brought briers to the club, for him to take over later this season

Clubs seem to be putting full game replays on YouTube. If anyone is desperate for a rugby fix
Cas look poor. That edge including Asi and Cini is all over the place, Cam Scott ran rings round them. Pretty sure we passed up on Asi because of his defence.
That Rodwell looks a good prop for Wakey.

Yes, Rodwell is class, there is definitely a reason they put him on a long term deal prior to coming into SL, think he will catch a few eyes this year.
Tell you what Cam Scott has looked brilliant in the 2 pre season games he's played, Carry's the ball really strong but what really impresses me is his defence.

| Cam's a good lad although he made some silly comments after he left Hull.
Just couldn't nail down a spot until 2023, with lots of niggling injuries. His try scoring record was very modest too. I wish him well at Wakey though.

His best run of form with us was in 2023 and looked like we was ready to kick on, but injuries got in the way.

To be fair, I'm not sure why a player would be expected to take some of the abuse he did on social media for getting injured and just stay quiet, fans are entitled to there opinions on players for me equally players have the right to reply, particularly when the abuse is as bad as it is.
Every club has there fair share of idiots don't they, sometimes when things are going great, more of those idiots come out of the woodwork. I'm good friends with one of the fringe first teamers at wakey, he reckons when Trueman rocked up to Wakefield he had over 400 vile message requests on his Twitter from FC fans, some of them really vile, I just don't think getting injured or underperforming justifies any of that. Maybe actually look at the parts of your fan base he was calling out because it's probably true they are toxic.

| Imo Scott never really hit the heights. Had his chances but injuries and maybe confidence just never did it . As far as Trueman I do think there's a very good player in there but again injuries played a massive part in his time at FC......We move on .......

| In regards to Scott & Trueman both are decent players but sadly their time at Hull was blighted significantly by injuries and an inability to stay out the treatment room. Never understand the need for people to use social media to give abuse to others but that now seems to be the way of the world.
Hopefully both can have a good run with Wakey though history suggests injury is likely to play a part.
For me Scott struggled to reach the level that his potential & early promise showed for a number of reasons with injuries being one of them. Trueman just never got going at Hull through constant injuries. Time will tell how things go for them both.
Looking at Cas they looked pretty poor.
Think Wellens may be under the pump already with St’s, don’t think he did a great job last season and don’t think he’ll have St’s at top this season either. Appears to be almost a similar situation to when they appointed Cunningham.
Looking forward to next weekend when we play Cas.

Think all clubs have their share of toxic fans...kr had their empty vessels and your own fans aren't perfect the way they treated Applegarth when in charge 2 years ago....anyway, good luck to Scott and Trueman, bout time they got a injury free run
