I can't believe that it was ever a serious consideration to leave though. A 5 year deal represents a big commitment from Wigan towards him, which will no doubt be represented in a large salary towards the latter end of that contract.

All that anyones heard from Hock is that he couldn't wait to get back in training with the squad, that he felt he owed the club and incredible amount and that he wanted to repay the club for the large amount of support they have shown him over the last 2 years.

Fookme, someone has a chip on their shoulder, bit of sucess after nearly being relegated twice and the egos inflate to epic proportions.

Hock has all the tools to be one of the best forwards in the world.

I could never really see much in the Hock to Hull rumours as the guy has basically commited himself to Wigan months ago and spoke publically about his desire to pull on the Wigan shirt again and pay back the clubs faith in him. He turned down moves to the NRL to stick with Wigan and is very much a home town lad. The rumour just didn't seem to add up from the start.

well to be fair wigan went a fair few years without winning a trophy aswell, as for players rangi chase would be a classic signing with a wembley win in august and a very nice profit ffor the season id offer a decent amount for him

Rumour has it one of 8 SL clubs to make a bid (a substantial one by all accounts), including the Penrith Panthers. However Hock wanted to stay with Wigan given how they had help him with his rehabilitation etc.

The "deal" was probably too good to be sniffed at anyhow. Maybe our 'pensioners' should take something to enhance their playing powers.

he didn't take performance enhancing drugs. This is what makes me laugh when people call him a "drugs cheat" It was cocaine, not steroids or performance enhancers. He just fell foul of the tough stance that RL takes with any drugs being taken.

Find it weird how Ryan Hudson was banned for actually taking performance enhancing drugs and no one really slags him off about being a dirty drugs cheat.
