Well tbf AP did say he wants us to be the best in SL, that appointment would send out the message he meant what he said.

Actually I do. I also read several other twitter streams from sportsmen in both RL and Cricket. Nothing extraordinary in Long's tweets. You've clearly got a problem with him - which is fine, but it's stopping you from having an objective viewpoint.

If AP were to be interviewing for Agar's replacement, I highly doubt he would do it at the KC.......

How many twitter accounts do you read from coaches with similar comments, none I suspect because one of the Key attributes of a coach is professionalism, something Longy lacks.

Edwards is one of the most decorated RL players of all time (possibly THE most decorated) and has worked under some of the greatest coaches in the world both in RL and RU.

It would be a sensational appointment however this is The Star so I'll take the rumour with a huge pile of salt. I doubt that Adam Pearson would conduct negotiatons at the stadium for a start.

Got to say I think two of Agar's biggest deficits are man management and motivational skills. His inability to change a game and prep for different teams are also paramount. Think Edwards' union coaching background shouldn't preclude any of these elements.

At the start of this year I was one of those who believed Agar should be given the season to show his worth.

Having spoken to him a few times, there is no doubt he knows his rugby.

However, as Senior said on Super League Super Men a few months back, his ability is not in question. It's just time to move on, we need a breath of fresh air.

If Pearson wants to keep Agar on for 2012, then we certainly need a director of rugby or a new assistant coach. Noble or McRae would fit that role nicely.

You missed my point. If he was offered a position who offered it when? I just hope it was from the old lot as it suggests that the current coaching set up is here to stay because if there was to be any change at the top any coaching appointment would surely wait for the new head coach to be in place.

I read quite a few sport twitter accounts and Longy's is not much different. I am struggling to remember anything controversial tbh.

Always difficult to say with player going straight into coaching but the people who know him best such as players/coaches seem to think he will do well.

I would have taken him as a no.2 with a a new head coach.

Not a chance for me, the days of employing ex-players who fancy a shot at coaching is long gone if we really want to challenge.
I suggest Longy starts at under 8s and works his way through, Longy loves controversy hence his comments/jokes about building a gypsy site on some land, he has not grown up and I fear he will always want to be the clown. His beahviour may well have been acceptable in the 80s however times have changed it is not a lads sport any-more, like I say the fact none of the top clubs have gone in for him speaks volumes.

Listening to Longy on Humberside last night he stated he hadnt had any offers from Hull at all but this chance came along and was to good to turn down. Plus he wasnt able to relocate to Hull or near Hull so non starter for me.

Bet that's it! Or is Pearson's much needed advisor! Absolutely no reason why he shouldn't be at the KC for either of these.
