I'd be happy to go with Staveley and Severs (or Jebson) for the rest of the year. It would be nice to use his money on a half or a decent centre though.

In all fairness I’d not blame him if he went home, he’s hardly set the world on fire with his performances, doesn’t look all that committed and the mess we are seeing in terms of on field product you wonder whether the training aspect or lack of could be a factor.
I remember when we were heavily involved in the ice hockey and a player came over with very good numbers but failed to produce when here. I got on well with him and when he said he wasn’t settling and going back I asked how come and his answer was the standard of training was poor and a couple of hours a day wasn’t enough for what he was used to.
Not saying it’s is the case but if it true Okunbor isn’t settling I wonder whether that has bearing if training isn’t exactly taxing or full days

While I think your a right that would be a very high risk strategy, without improvement im not renewing my pass. Ill take my chances streaming games and lets face it theres 15k empty seats to choose from if you want to buy a ticket.

Odd tactic by Pearson if he is deliberately running the team that way.
If (When?) he sells the club, then the only entity he can sell is the team (Players), the worse the team does then the value of his investment diminishes exponentially, as the fan base drifts away. .

| It’s pretty obvious we are short of cash and that’s got to play out somewhere
It still costs a fortune to rent the stadium
Covid loans are killing us
We had no real income for 2 years
Adam doesn’t have a business like Fudgell etc
Adam is doing all he can - he really is
It’s hard when you’re juggling cash all the time and suck’s your motivation
It’s also effecting his ability to manage the Head Coaches !!!

| Which of our 7 overseas players would you be disappointed if they left tomorrow.
I'd say only Ese Ese.
Think that says how poorly we use our overseas quota.
Think Hoy and Brown are both good players, but Hoy never seems to get a chance to get going, put him in the Leigh, you would see a different player, Brown needs to play at 9, he isn't a 7, could maybe be a 6, but needs to playing with someone better than Smith.

| I don't know how hard the training is or if it is p iss easy. What I do know if the players are that ar sed about it how come as professional rugby players they give an aura of I couldn't give a s.hit when teams break the line or score a try. That's not down to the coach or training that's personal and professional pride . Our players seem to lack that

I played the game in the Works league and the coaches in those days drilled into you. Tackle owt that moves . Run hard. Back up . Never let your head drop. Also remember him telling everyone at training I learn more from you lot if your getting beat. Rugby IMO is a simple game. But you must show desire and heart. Am afraid ATM we are lacking that.

Yes 3 days a week they do , not sure if it varies though, depending on when we’ve played or play next , or if it’s just 3 days a week every week for a few hours .

If that's the case then that explains the turd we are seeing on the pitch and is just simply not good enough and may as well be part time.
I know in the past I used to see players in some of the coffee shops by 1-2pm which had me wondering back then just how much time is actually spent in training.

| In defence of Adam he is an intelligent man & he feels the current pain probably more than we do !
It is HIS money that the club relies on to survive, I am absolutely certain that he has tried desperately to secure additional funding & sponsorship - I am pretty sure that if the right deal was on the table he would walk away, but clearly the club lacks that super wealthy supporter to solve all of our grief.
I remember the Gateshead 'merger' which saved us from almost cetin extinction - so things can get worse. Look at clubs like Bradford & Widnes, who would have believed they would fall so far.
We do NOT have an entitlement to be a top 4 team & always contesting major finals - last time that happened was over 40 years ago !! These are indeed grim times but attacking all & sundry isn't going to wave a magic wand. For me I will keep attending & spending - lets face it in any negotiations a large & very loyal fanbase is our best selling point & what saved us last time.
Did I read somebody mentioning selling players ??? Do these posters not follow the sport ? The days of selling Lee Crooks & Gary Schofield must be still fresh in their memory.
Others calling for Severs, Balmforth, Charles etc to play out the season - again do they watch the games ? These youngsters absolutely do need nurturing, protecting & developing. I do share concerns that we may lose the cream of the crop to other clubs. Losing Cam Scott to Wakefield would be the most telling sign of our financial plight.

| There is zero defending Pearson at this point, in my view at least. He was happy to be a sole owner of a club in a minority sport when the going was good, his inability to build upon that and his naivety has well and truly come back to haunt him.
My greatest concern is that we are currently heading in the direction of a Bradford, you can call that exaggeration but the signs are there. No investment, no assets, no on-field results and a slowly diminishing crowd.
As said countless times on other threads, the most frustrating factor is the lack of communication. We have just been pumped by at depleted Leigh side at home (yet again) and what do we get? 'We're wearing the away kit next match, buy it now!'. I don't even consider AP as an intelligent man if you can be so oblivious to the current feelings within the lifeblood of this club.
This is a club at crisis point, whether you like it or not. And ultimately it lies with one person. I am just glad now that people are calling it out for what it is.

Very to hard/difficult to argue against the points raised as they are a pretty fair summation of the situation and what a concerning number of fans are likely to be thinking.

KR got lucky by being granted a patch of land around a stadium that hadent been developed for decades. Hudgell tried and failed to sell Rovers for years before that happened.
We cant blame Pearson for lack of assets, he of course bought the club already locked into the MKM deal and theres never been the finances to build our own training ground.
The other factor that isnt directly Pearson's fault is the TV deal, had the game being managed properly we could have been in situation where the TV deal was increasing while the salary cap kept the costs down and clubs could be making a profit. Instead SKY have the game over a barrell and you'd have to be a diehard fan to throw millions at RL.
