| I do not think the pitch or any pitch could cope with the extra games, so from that point of view its a none starter. I do wonder where this is all coming from and why though, clearly KR are having problems with Craven Park and are looking increasingly desperate to move forward.
Anyone who thinks the KR fans would welcome a move West is living in cloud cuckooland, the vast majority would vote with there feet.
I wonder what Mr Alam had in the way of security for his " loan" does he own some shares I wonder. I think Hutchies suggestion of merger is a very real possibilty, it would be popular with everyone except the hardcore fans and one I think is being progressed towards.

| Quote ="Wellsy13"How would it lose all of its credibility?! That's a ridiculous statement.
There would very rarely be 3 fixtures a week. The pitch is only awful because football is played in winter. In summer, the pitch will be fine. And very very rarely would there be 3 fixtures a weekend. The football team already play at least 23 home fixtures. 26 home rugby fixtures is a fair comparison.
If it somehow manages to bring down operating costs (thus making things like tickets cheaper), I'd be happy for them to move in.'"
Look How The Pitch Is After so many games after football.. yes does get better when they stop because rugby is all over the field instead of up and down through the middle and sometimes it gets a break when we play away.
but when you think it has 23 football games, then 26 rugby games, then football starts again. the pitch will be f****d.
Then you will lose the build up to the derby, east meets west.. it wont be like that no more.
end of the day people think its a good idea because it will bring costs down. yes well done. but want adam pearson already going to have talks about bringing the rent down??
just leave things as they are.. sooner or later it seems rovers going to go bust.
this maybe a ridiculous post but its my opinion.

I don't think Allam owns any shares in Rovers, at least if he does, they've not filed the return at Companies House yet.
I find it interesting that the supposed Rovers source in the Sun is complaining about the council's lack of support. The Council have so far borrowed £6m from Central government and underwritten Rovers repayments on the North Stand part (around £2m) in case of default. They've signed up to a Hull Training centre in the North Stand at Craven Park, when realistically there are more obvious locations for an East Hull training facility which have better transport links and are more densely populated. They have organised the application for ERDF funding of £2.5m for the balance of cash required. On top of repurchasing the freehold of Craven Park and organising a peppercorn rent. I don't see why Rovers should be indignant about any lack of support at all.
Perhaps Hudgell and Crossland are weary of funding ongoing losses.

| Hudgell sounded like he has no appetite for season on season personal losses trying to compete in SL in an 8800 capacity 'stadium'. Or was it the £1million Allam 'loan/gift' talking?

Well feel free to fume away.
Get used to the thought of it, as Hull FC rent the stadium, and Rovers have just as much right to also rent the stadium.

Excellent. You'd all look (even more) like total tits though after all the Pride of East Hull bollox and slating the KC as a characterless venue though. Welcome to West Hull and thanks for reducing our costbase. AP will be delighted.

Actually no they don't
The user agreement names both Hull city and Hull FC as joint prime users, either or both can veto the renting out of the stadium to a third party. Hull city council own the stadium and did ask KR right back before it was built and KR said no, that was the end of that. KR pay a peppercorn rent for the use of Craven park which they have to maintain and now they are having problems with funding devopements now.

Would it be business practice to issue shares to some who had loaned money to the company as a sort of surety ?

| can I just ask, why are some of the more sensible FC fans even concerned about this, firstly it's in The Sun, so that makes it nonsense inthe first place, secondly it's written by Dave Parker, which means it was written in crayon.
KR getting anywhere near the KC as their home ground requires a lot of council discussions, a lot of consultation with both FC and City AND the various bodies that have already funded Caravan Park. They get 8,800 for a reason, small club, small chairman and a small mentality.
People would be much better served looking into where Mr "Knight in shining armour" Crossland has disappeared off to, and the financial stability/viability of Hull KR.
merger is not on the cards, despite what a few people might have you believe

No merger but hudge is painting himself into a corner with the lack of capacity at caravan park. If the north stand falls through then he needs to do something and the council won't refuse a request from rovers to play at the KC.
It's a council facility and we only rent it. I have no issues with rovers playing their home games there

I haven't seen anywhere that suggests it's not happening. It's a simple, perhaps inevitable, delay in the European funding. Maybe Hudgell should have spent £200k less on players this year - they have a very big squad - and not done the Tenerife camp, to balance the books. Hudgell want his cake and to eat it. It's within his gift to balance the books in the short term and he could accept this and act accordingly rather than blaming the council who have bent over backwards to assist Rovers over a number of years.

The funding isn't approved so at the minute it isn't happening. I don't doubt the grant will be approved but unless the council bankroll it in the short term I doubt it will be ready before mid 2013 at best

| Surely the knight in shining armour Mr Rob Crossland could bankroll this at the opening of a parasol... or maybe he's as skint as the dobbins?

| Laughable quote from the ambulance chaser in the Wail that the dobbins have been honest with their accounts, or even too honest! Shades of Harry Redknapp there. Would this be the same people who post abbreviated accounts and usually put them in late?
Hudgell's web of lies regarding ground developments is unravelling rapidly and the truth is coming back to haunt him in a big way. No wonder he is desperately resorting to diversionary tactics with his attempts to revive and drag on the Gleeson case.
As for the dobbins at KC, I have no problems as long as they are paying an appropriate and equivalent rental and on time. Though with their perilous financial situation that might be a struggle for them.

Normally I'd agree with you, and I wrote something similar earlier in the thread. However I've since heard that there may actually be some substance to this and if you heard Hudge on Blunderside last night he went out of his way to NOT deny it and in fact made some comments that tie in nicely with the report.
