Pro sport deals with the "now" doesnt it not the past .. the now is that they are preparing for a cup match that could make or break our season AND the coaches tenure at the club if some are to be believed
when we beat salford and quins etc the agar out clan went quiet, and were silent after the warrington match so parity where its needed , if we fail against Leeds at home in the cup then by all means open the floodgates and let the slaughter begin .. but right now all eyes should be on a win IMO

I do want to win the CC game no question. The facts are that Agar is not up to the job imo. Look at our record over the last 4 years to see for yourself.

I seem to remember a fair few of us pointing out that beating the likes of Salford/Wakey etc would not mean anything if it was not backed up with good performances/wins against the big teams. I have said for a long time that July makes or breaks our season but will most likely break due to the inept fool running the team.

indeed, in fact most FC fans, regardless of any strong opinion on Agar, said as much, in fact, after the Wire win some said it was useless unless we backed it up.

The fact is, and the league table and stats do not lie, Hull FC have not achieved under Richard Agar.

A good coach gets more out of what he has available than you would reasonably expect him to. Other than the odd game, agar has consistently got less out of the players he's had available than you would reasonably expect him to.

In over 3 years in charge, agar has shown absolutely nothing to suggest he has what it takes to take a SL team to a grand final win

Miava was a poor player. Spilled the ball on a monotonous basis, off loaded only twice in his season with Hull, both resuilted in interception tries and only once actually used his size to any advantage.

Lauaki is a far better player than Miava.

Lauaki is an average SL player at the moment, with the occasional flash of his true potential. Last season he was criticised for giving too many penalties away, now he is criticised for being too passive. Damned if he does, damned if he doesnt. He doesn't help himself with some of his decision making. He has bombed a couple of opportunities by not passing.

Ultimately its up to the coach to get the best out of a player. He has the ability but its being surpressed by his coach

Im one of Agars biggest critics but if thats the case then how come Moa has come on so well then?

For some reason and I may be wrong (usually am!) I get the impression all is not well with Moa & Agar, at least it would explain Moas improvement

Not sure.

Moa was a bit of an unknown quantity and perhaps needed guidence. Perhaps Agar's quality is bringing on younger players. Afterall, Houghton, Briscoe and Moa have improved. Perhaps these players were always going to flurish due to natural talent.

Where Agar falls short is advising experianced, established players, like Lauaki. Perhaps Lauaki (and others for that matter) do not respect Agar as he hasn't really achieved anything of note in the game?
