HUH? Memory problems? Motu Tony has a history gonig back a long way of being dodgy under the bomb, it's well known amongst coaches hence the fact they often put him under pressure. The Salford game was the perfect example. They were 50 yards out and put up a bomb, no one does that to Wellens or Briscoe because they know they'll just gobble them up. Tony made a hash of it and put for a dubious refereeing decision Salford would have won the game.

I suppose he has played there loads recently for you to be able to make such a judgement.

We have better options at 6. I wouldn't have a problem with him playing 6, but we just have better options.

I'd not like to see him play 7 - he's not an organiser - but as a running 6 in the role Horne is supposed to play, he'd be a decent option.

We used him at 6 a few times in his first season with us IIRC. He was poor. I guess he might be better there now, but it would be a risk.

I have seen him play there before. If he was good there dont you think he might just have made a career out of it ? He is an excellent hooker and a good utility back. And as for your question about Hudds lets see where they finish come the end of the season. Although they have Robinson who is better than anything we have in that position and they have a better pack than we do. Once again - they have better players overall than we do. Now without answering my question with one of your own who is world class in Hull's team ?

At what point did I say we had loads of world class players? Your question is totally irrelevant, hence my returning the compliment.

I said we had underachieved. I stand by that. There are other teams with fairly average looking squads who are above us in the league. We have a number of players who have played representative RL in the past and a couple who might just do so in the future. Overall the quality of the squad isn't anywhere near good enough to win the thing, but we should be pushing for 6/7 if everyone was performing. I reckon we'll finish about 10th.

I think our squad is very average and I suppose that is where we differ in opinion. I've seen nothing from the majority of the players to suggest anything otherwise. Individual errors blight our performances and many of the players cannot reach the level of consistency required at this level in the basics of the game.

9th/10th finish would be about right for this squad in my view. Agar has tried to start recruiting better players. Visa issues have set that back this year and next year's recruitment is good so far but needs to add more quality. Agar should be given next season with an improved squad. If there is no improvement with better players then he should go.

As usual, Tony took the ball up well and supported. As usual he c0cked up in the key FB role of taking a ball on the full.

My god, Tony made 1 error today that didn't cost us any points, thackray knocks on, they score from the following set which at the time of the game really deflated us! No thread about thacks though.
Which just goes to prove that people on here will take any slight opportunity to start a witch hunt against someone who has been quality for us over the years but still can't get over a decision made by a coach 2 years ago!

On the contrary. I too think we have an average squad, but I also think that other average squads are doing better than us at this point in the season.



But when you look at the squad we have, we should be doing better. We should be able to do the basics right:

Calderwood - international
Yeaman - former international
Horne - former international
Berrigan - international
Manu - international
Radford - former SL winner
Briscoe - future (current?) international
King - former international
Thacks - has he got a cap or two?
Cusack - has he got an NRL winner's medal?

I'm not saying we should be topping the competition (and I know we've had a few injuries), but we have a number of players who, if they were performing better, could turn us into a reasonable play-off quality side.
