While I'd acknowledge Hull are a [islightly[/i bigger club, you must have got colour TV pretty late. 3 Championships and our only challenge cup were won after colour TV's were pretty much common place. The majority of Hull's success pre-dated the limited tackle rule.

As another neutral fan I concurr, there is simply no comparison between the clubs.

However Hull were very poor last night and whilst I appreciate you had injuries, as did Wigan, Hull still fell a long way short on the pitch and I would have thought the game would have been a lot closer. The game at the KC earlier in the season was quite similar, where Hull had a much stronger team out, and was also a disappointment and one sided. On paper Hull have some good players but need to strengthen a lot imo to really challenge for honours.

Both times we have played Wigan this year we have had massive injuries. Although our record against yourselves is poor, it is impossible to compete with a side as good as yours when we are down to playing our 5th/6th choice winger/centre (Lineham) and by the end of the game have 3 subs who are injured and can't take part.

we are bringing in at least 6 new players for next season, to add to the likes of Watts and Pitts who we have bought mid-season, we will be a completely different team next year. Our owner has also stated that he intends to invest in our sports science/backroom staff to at least try and reduce the number of injuries we pick up.

The last side from Hull to crowned Champions were Hull Kingston Rovers. And they are the only RL side from Hull to have won at Wembley.

We were very poor no question but there was plenty of effort and fight out there. The problem was we simply had too many players injured, too many patched up and then to lose another three during the game killed us.

Fortunately Wigan were not at their imperious best.

What difference does the venue make? We still won the Cup and what a memorable day it was.

The two trophy wins for Rovers you mention were both more than a generation ago. Even Brucie was only in his 50s.
