Rovers fans are not stupid, they should surely realize that losing £450,000 a season and taking out loans to improve the ground (at snail pace) wouldn't put them in a healthy position.

They may or may not be stupid, but they do have a massive blind spot when it comes to Hudgell. They simply will not entertain the thought that he might make decision that won't benefit their club. None so blind as those who will not see...

| Good on Rovers for getting Allam to pay off Willie's wage, we don't want and need any money off him what so ever(Westerman 150k transfer fee), so let them gloat and we will have our laff when it goes belly up.

| Quote ="barham red"I really can;t see what gain anyone would have from getting FC out of the KC, I agree they might not be the primary focus of the owner (are they now?) but it is surely a more viable venture with the rugby team in it then without them. As a sporting vilage the RL would attract circa 14k every other week to the village, using its hotels and facilities. Why would he throw that out.
Staffs point is valid, that if it went pear shaped then you would go with it but the ulterior motive of removing FC just seems a bit paranoid.'"
Would you say the same if the money he is handing over was in return for owning craven park?

If he was prepared to develop it and gave tight assurances about our tenancy then it'd be an option that need seriously looking at.
It's irrelevant who owns the ground, its been run by the football club for years anyway, haven't the last few chairmen been head of the SMC.
Fact is it makes far more sense keeping RL at the KC than it does 'throwing FC out'. The only party I could see who would prefer a rugby free zone are the FA and they should have no say whatsoever.

I agree with you on that one, he wouldn't throw us out as we would be able to help the income of the stadium.
What I do fear is not being allowed access to the stadium because his village idea has gone tits up.

What we pay is insignificant in premiership football terms. If he wanted us out, the amount we pay wouldn't make him think twice about it

| Simply Question for every FC Fan who might think that the sale of the stadium to the Allams is a good idea; 'Do you want your Hull FC to be the tenants of Hull City?
ANd if you still do What would happen then when there is a clash of dates with a City game for a play off match on Sky who do you think would get precident?

Its not what you pay, its the added income to the village. RL would allow the village to be viable for more months of the year.

We already are though Wilf. Every Chairman of the SMC I can remember has been Chairman of City at the time, running the Stadium, whether they own it or not.

The only good thing about him is he is a businessman what makes him tick is making money. Sure we wouldn't be able to match the amount of money a premiership football team gets but we would be able to pay enough to keep him interested IMO.
The only way he would want rid of us is if City were packing out to the tune of 40,000 people every week and playing European football. I doubt neither of those would actually happen.

Apart from idiots (like me ) joking about, as long as you have firm assurances as to your continued rights, is it a big worry? Hull FC is a big political constituency - nobody wants to offend it (you bunch of smelly gormers )
If Allam is willing to pay [ua fair price[/u, and the council could do with cash for new capital projects, and all stakeholders (incl. Hull FC) are treated in a truly fair manner, then I think it is worth [uconsidering[/u. If not, then it isn't.

What added income would tehre be to this village? At best we get about 1000 away fans and pretty much all live within an hour or two of the KC. It's not as if rugby fans would be flocking to his hotel and other facilities in droves

I'd personally have no problem if anyone bought the stadium and gave assurances that both City and FC would be treated fair, equal and guaranteed to have a home there for life.
Whats worrying for me is that not only does he want to buy it he wants to improve it with all these facilities which could work or could go belly up. If he buys the stadium starts redeveloping and say the likes of City get relegated or don't get promoted then he may lose interest and decide to pull out leaving both clubs in the .
If he can assure everybody that this won't happen then I would have no problem myself. They is also the fact what would happen if he decides he doesn't want City anymore and sells them, suddenly the cost to stay at the stadium would go up and we could end up with a boothferry park situation all again.

No we are not the SMC only manage the Stadium for the Council, there is an arbitration mechanism for disputes etc. with the Council with whom we first made the agreement, the deal states that the club will use the Stadium with the SMC manageing the day to day running of it and its tenants but the ownership of the Stadium and in effect the final word is with the Council. If sold then the SMC would dissapear and it would be the Football club and the Allams that set the terms of our usage and there would be no third party owner to intervene if they try to shaft us. Of course we have a tenasncy agreement which we would hope is water tight whoever owns the Stadium but at present we pay the SMC what we agreed we would pay them but that agreement was made with the Council, before the SMC was set up. Once in City's hands they will be able as owners to vary or change our tenacy agreement when the conditions of that agreement allow, and we would be able to do little about it because any means of appealing would dissapear with the Councils ownership. Its also interesting that at present the football club pay the SMC a hefty sum to use the Stadium no doubt when the Football club own the ground they will possibly be looking to off set some of that current expenditure on its other tenant. I know I would!

Even with the assurances you mention in place I still wouldn't want Allam to own the stadium. His plans for the 'sports village' have ' expensive white elephant' written all over them, and if it fails then our home is at risk.

The crux of the issue for me is that whilst the council own the stadium we will always have a degree of comfort that we can't be kicked out or unfairly treated. If it's in private hands the same does not apply. Even if allam is a totally trustworthy guy and does not wish us any ill, who is to say that whoever the next owner of city is will feel the same. Also, what if we fall on hard times and the crowds fall. Can't see a commercial landlord letting us play there for free as our current arrangement

As always you put in three lines what I fail to get across in a short story!
The question for all FC fans and those of a black and white inclination has to be Do you want City to be our landlords?
