Turner is a very average player,who will be gone in a year or two (hopefully).

turner could have a big season for us.young and underrated.i'm also hoping tansey can silence his critics,though he could win mos and folk would still moan!

I'd Like to be impressed by our coach employing better tactics in attack; more variation of plays (regardless of who is at halfback) I would also like to see him get the players "up" for some of the lesser games.

As has previously been said, the talent IS there, it just hasn't been utilised properly.

I think Sharpe will really impress and have a sneaky feeling Horne might surprise a few people. In the forwards I think Westerman and Hame.

I hope Manu has a few new tricks too, the step is great but running with 4 men on his back all the time is not going to break down defences, the short ball to Yeaman would be more effective.

I thought towards the end of the season Turner had gained alot more confidence and played his best stuff for us.

You mean Horne might surprise a few people by earning what we've been paying him for the last 5 years, I hope you're right Paul.

I think when our pack performs it's the best pack in super league as proved last year because we played on the back of their performancies all year, our halfs out injured one or the other.
so once again if pack performs top six if halfs stay fit who knows.
stand outs for me Manu, Tickle, Fitz and Ogre.

i agree totally.he looked pretty solid as he went on,and is still young and learning.though i am unsure of his best position?probably centre,as westerman will gain the LF role and he isnt good enough to be a 6.

I agree that our pack [ishould[/i be impressive but last year there were very few games that it really bossed and bullied the opposition. There were times when it got pushed around by supposed lesser packs , Crusaders away notably. You'd often come away thinking that the forwards had had good games individually but they hadn't had that dominant effect and I can only put that down to the game plan not using individuals to their best effect and the rotation which often had tired players on the field and fresher ones on the bench. I hope we get it right next year the forwards are as impressive as they ought to be.

they were complacent against the welsh and against salford at the willows it was down to handling errors(23!!!).apart from that it was the hb's that let us down,but without long and horne we were always going to struggle at 6 and 7.Berro did a decent job at 7,but that isn't his position,yet people will always comment on what little impact he had there.the same with washy at 6,or turner at 6!! that is not their position,but played there due to injuries.people bang on about an ageing squad,and long in particular,but wire dont seem bothered about the age of brett hodgson?then again tony smith,has signed him,so that will be ok!!!!

Certainly we didn't have the halfbacks and lacked direction but there were numerous times that the forwards were beat in the tackle/collision and didn't go forward in attack and were driven backwards in defence. Probably because they were doing too much or playing the wrong role. Next year used properly as I said it's the pack that could be as impressive as I was hoping they would be a year ago.

They all look pretty sharp and fit,sam moa has lost a bit of weight also lauaki looks very trim,i must say that pearce kid was training and it looks like hes lost a stack of weight,they all seemed in good spirits too,apparently there due back in thursday and if all goes well they can have xmas eve off

totally agree..i think theyll both go really well. especially turner.im expecting big things from those two.....

b) 2 whole new moves for 2011 - hope they don't reveal both in the pre-season friendlies and spoil the surprise(s).

Well, we gave cheap penalties away in three different ways, and I am sure we had four different ways of knocking on, and two ways of conceding point after scoring a try, add that to the drop off ball inside, and you're at ten!

I assume Willie means it's easier to teach two new players (westerman and Sharp) the plays, than teach ten new players as we saw last year.

Two moves would be nice though, assuming the two new guys can learn the drop off move we've used for the past three seasons.

Ah,right.

Still, we've never fully replaced the old "Tommy Lee kicking the ball dead on the third tackle when no one else realises it's happening" move, so let's hope we get a few minor tweaks of that, preferably just not with Lee, not kicking it dead and with other players realising what's happening.

For me, it has to be...

1. Dowes and Radford to rip up SL in 2011 and become 2/3 of the dream team front row while instilling absolute fear into every single other SL prop.

2. Horne to prove himself as SL's best stand-off, running in tries for fun on his way to the man of steel award.

3.Yeaman to cause chaos in opposition defences week in, week out with his devastating pace and guile while becoming SL top try scorer.

4. Agar masterminding his way to the coach of the year award for the first of his four consecutive years.


Now that would impress me !!!!
