Its his job to back Agar at the moment, it was also his job to back Sharp and he did upto the board getting rid of him. Then James took on the mantle of the who had sacked him, he had in truth not of course that was higher up.

Top and bottom is that Agar will be thrown out of the lifeboat as soon as it looks like being stupid to keep him in it. Like wise James Rule and the precident there is his predecessor who was made to walk the plank for some collective cock ups.

I just think our problems are higher up the chain of command and the people who appoint these in the first place are the ones who have failed.

I would certainly prefer Peter Sharp in now to Agar. The club were too quick to listen to hand wringing fans calling for his head. The same fans who criticise the club for constant spin are the ones who used to accuse Sharp of not being media savvy. Too late now. Agar may do better with a more professional group of players next season - if he doesn't he should be out.

Just because sharp was less worse than agar doesn't mean he was a good coach. Neither was kear. The club have made 3 successive poor coaching appointments. I've said it before that if we'd invested in a top quality coach when mcrae left we'd have won SL by now.

Agreed, although i actually liked Sharp and maybe he should have been given more time at the helm.

I would maybe disagree that Sharp was a bad coach. He got us to a GF in his first half season here and then achieved a respectable 4th place the year after. I think the guy deserves a lot of credit for that. I really think that he could of built something here. To be honest, I think a fully fit Adam Dykes and a few less injuries in general would of put us in a great position last year. Then throw in a clear-out that im sure Sharp would of instigated at the end of last year and I think we would of been cooking on gas. I think the guy got a bad deal really

The difference is that then it was playing to our strengths. We had a good set of forwards capable of carrying it strongly, putting us on the front foot for Cooke, Horne and Tony to work off the back of. Cooke going meant that we were still making the ground but didn't have anyone to create anything after that good work until Head came. And then at the start of 2008 we lost Carvell, and the majority of the punch in the forwards, [iand[/i we didn't have a half, so that was never going to go well. Sharp was a good coach, who played to the strengths of the squad, but he was just dealt a couple of very bad hands. And still took us to our best two SL finishes in his two completed seasons.

Everyone seems to be Sharpy's pal now. Pity he didn't have more friends at the time he left.
