Yes the club and team is a mess but for me its the back row that is really letting the side down especially on the right. Lane is absolute garbage, never has been any good apart from a few decent games a couple of years ago - the rest of the time hes been consistently turd. Cator not looking anything like the player he was though i know still coming back from injury - whether hes got the ability to step up again im not sure. We should have Savelio and Sao in the back row - much more size, grunt and would immediately be a massive improvement in defense too.

Next - Tuimavave - another one in the Taylor, Houghton, Shaul group - shouldnt be anywhere near the team and another given a long contract when for me he's done and has consistently shown nothing for two years. Get rid sharpish the kids fini9shed infact never really had it to start off with.

Mcnamara is no way super league level and needs to go on out on loan - play Balmforth there though i think he may take Cliffords place

Clifford - what an absolute pile of e he is. Hes done nothing since arriving, doesnt have a kicking game, is not organising - how the actual has he done so well in the NRL? Id even say Reynolds was better

Taylors just a fat pudding these days who also shouldnt be anywhere near the team - play a younger lad like Staveley

That bus was missed nearly 30 years ago, and I don’t think there’s another coming. Sport is cyclical, supposedly, but in SL the wheel is both small and very slow turning. Consistent success is just for the same few richest clubs. Ironically, I don’t think their achievements are very memorable either because they’re so common place. It’s interminable but it is what we’ve chosen. If we wanted a shot at sustained success we’d merge. We prefer this. Even though it is mostly miserable, it is misery built on foundations laid in 1865 and 1882. And, now and then, the sun breaks through the clouds for a little bit.

If everything is so good where are the top class locally produced players in your squad? Where are the ones just breaking into the first team? Whilst on paper you do have some decent squad players the whole bunch are performing poorly. There is a reason you were able to sign players from Leeds. Leeds did not want them and you can see why. A number of up and coming local players performed well for us in very difficult citcumstances last year. They have not had the same opportunity this time round because of the quality and depth of our squad. Your first team squad are not performing at a level that would keep any promising young kid out.

Most are 17 or 18, there are a few others who should be given more of a chance, Staverley, Balmforth and Litten (at full back), but we prefer to play the likes of Shaul, Houghton, Evans, Lovodua and Lane.

Little point in having a production line then if Smith insist on players who are past it. How many of yesterday’s squad came through your ranks?

It’s subjective but I doubt it. Probably won’t even be informative for me. Even people who can read them say stuff like ‘it is hard to tell with abridged accounts’.

Nearly all SL clubs run at a loss, not least St Helens (in recent years at least) the supposed example to others. Everybody spends more than they have because they’re chasing others doing the same. Sometimes the money runs out and clubs have to tighten their belts or if they don’t/can’t they go bust. S’only interesting if it affects the game.

I mean, Rovers almost went bust over something like £500k (I can’t remember exactly but it was a lot less than £7.8m). I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve more debt now than when the Sharks went to the wall or when Pearson rescued you. Yet here we are, you thinking a spell in the lower leagues mightn’t be so bad and me now paranoid about how many commas I use.

The only reason these guys are on your board is for the expected future shareout of profits from building on the land around the ground.
Remember Hudge put the club up for sale then as soon as he was given the news that the Hull C/C would gift him the land he was back like a rat up a drainpipe

I don’t mean this as either an insult or compliment to your profession, but it feels like some effort and expertise goes into yielding a minimum of information in these things and producing something that is as opaque as is compliantly possible. Is that one of those ‘well… ye-uh’ things?

Well, the cost of the purchase will need to be shown in the tangible fixed assets note under land and buildings additions. So, yes, I think so
