| A lot of speculation about Westerman, lets see who he ends up at, who pays a fee etc. Hull will be a better team without him "if" he is to leave. Time will tell I guess, but he'll be as average in a Leeds or Warrington team

You may be right but if you're basing your opinion on how he plays for us it may not turn out how you expect.
If (and it's a big if) he does end up at the rhinos I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him do a lot better. They have better coaching and a winning culture that would only give him a better chance at succeeding.

Plus the fact that Rhinos do seem to be able to deal with wayward sons, if the rumour mill is true about Joe??????.

| A change of scenery would do him good, on his day I think Westerman is a top loose man but occasionally his attitude lets him down. Certainly he was pulling up trees and made a good showing in the international appearance IMO.
Less focus on him and a tighter ship will help if he has any intentions of regaining rep honours.

| No idea if the link to leeds rumours are true but reckon if they do sign him McDermott will ask him to start off playing a much simpler game to get him settled in. A bit like stevie ward and Delaney do now. Make tackles and carry ball to set positions on the pitch. This will take pressure off him a bit. For me at times for fc he looked like a guy trying too hard to do everything and win game on his own. Wire will probably offer more coin than uncle gary hough.

Someone said previously that Leeds have a winning culture. They perform consistently for the most part. I said previously that, for me, Westy's inconsistent but I also said that it's not just him. Perhaps by going to a more consistent team he'll gain that consistency either by raising his game or through having the pressure taken off him knowing there's other game winners around him.
Given Wire's struggles this season I'm not sure he'd find that consistency with them.

| If Westerman has already signed for another club I very much doubt AP would release this transfer news until after the price freeze date had gone for memberships anyway, but I would suggest if he does go after him stating 'he will be sold over my dead body' statement then his credibility would be terminally damaged.

| If leeds are in for him think they may want to sign him before next friday when they play New Zealand. Leeds missing a lot for that game and have brought back Adrian morley and Ali lauititi for one night. Hetherington would probably like a new signing playing to put some on the gate and improve team. Crooks and schofield are next in line for a call

Don't think there are many tickets left for the game don't think they need to put any numbers on the gate. The treble and two returning past players have done that

We have a winner at last!
Westerman has already signed for Warrington. Fact.
The fact that Pearson spins such nonsense to the contrary is an insult quite frankly.
Don't believe me?

Not saying you're wrong, but it would be strange (as it was for Lineham) to sign for a club going in a completely different direction to us.

I don't think it's that "strange" to be honest.
Warrington are cashed-up and ambitious. Pearson wants/needs to sell.
Anyone who takes Pearson at his word is advertising a willingness to believe in anything.
Leeds and Warrington have been in for Westerman for weeks.
Leeds werent prepared to pay a fee, Warrington were.
No doubt Pearson will attempt to save face by announcing an "undisclosed" fee, saying it was "too good to turn down" blah, blah, blah.
As I say, watch this space.

Its poor turning a game against the Kiwis into a testimonial type game, hope their "signings" break their cap.
Do you think we'd have got Lee Crooks and Jonny Whitley playing?

| Still a load of e spouted on here
Westerman would be a massive loss IMO, we're a different side when he doesn't play and a much better one when he does. The fact Leeds are apparently after him speaks volumes, I can't remember the last time they signed a player and thought he wasn't a good signing for them.

| If it is 150k I can totally see why the club have sold him, gives us money to help the club and big piece of salary cap to play with, ok we lose a decent player on his day, but we have plenty of cover.
My main concern is when or how we use the money, no quota places and lack of quality British players available. I like us to try and use the money to sign an outside back or hooker. Who could we make a bid for that would realistically sign for us or their club release him. If only we hadn't kept Micheals and we could have tried to sign Carney or another winger from the NRL.
We could keep the money for a mid season signing?

It looks as though Westerman was always going to go this off-season. From what I was told, Pearson made the decision to cash in on his two most saleable assets midway through last season.
This would explain why the club suddenly changed tact and signed Sika Manu, withdrawing a contract offer to Jordan Rankin in the process.
It's fairly obvious that a chunk of his Westerman's salary has long been accounted for.
But, by not revealing his true hand too early, Pearson has been able to push a "no squad is stronger narrative" to feed pass sales.
He's even managed to suppress the news coming out before the shirt launch.
Good PR or cynical PR? Either way, I think he's surpassed himself with the vehemence of his recent denials, even having the audacity to claim "Joe is a big part of the club's plans moving forward."
The news of Westerman's move to Warrington will break next week.
The only question is, whether Pearson will attempt to cushion the blow with a "too good an offer to turn down" response, or pin another guilt-trip on fans, blaming sluggish pass sales!

Given that we have been fed a constant stream of tales of financial woe from AP recently I'd be amazed if any of the cash were allocated for signings.
The money will be needed to fund day to day operations due to the fans that are "killing the club" by not renewing their season passes.
