If Agar hadn't risked him between the semi and the final, he would have played, and we would have beaten Saints comfortably. They were poor that day but we had no half backs on the field

I watched Dykes on one crutch get onto the coach at Brantingham for Wembley but still wished him luck. He turned round and nodded grimly while saying thanks. I could tell he had every intention of playing, but couldn't see how he was physically capable. Like has been said - he should have been saved after the semis.

obst is what he has always been - a limited player who gives 100%. the way some people were talking him up pre and post his signing is laughable. And I've heard we gave him a 50% salary increase on his wakey earnings so he'll be going nowhere.

If he's our 1st choice 7 next season then they aren't getting my season pass money.

Houghton is surely the favoured hooker and has so far managed this season on his own so we can't have signed Aaron Heremaia for no reason. I expect Long to retire at the end of this season and I would hope Heremaia is good enough to replace him and Obst will be back up hooker/scrum half

heremaia is a far better 9 than he is a 7 so i would expect ellis and obst to be sharing the role next year imho

Don't think people talked him up as such, just said he would be a useful signing as an impact hooker and back up to Horne/Long. I don't recall people saying they wanted him as first choice SH.

I fully expect Sean Long to be offered an extension on his contract for 2012. If the intention is for him to coach ellis then its not such a bad idea. His salary needs to be significantly lower than now though

It needs to be said that we have not yet completed our recruitment so maybe a bit hasty to judge entirely.
