I have said this on here numerous times too, why not spend it if he will change our season for the better? No doubt somewhere down the line people will be moaning that we didn't spend the money when we had the chance!

Agree...I love the guessing game, according to us lot this off season every-one from Cronk to the kid from West Hull are coming..

Would still like us to bring in Moore and maybe duel register him with Batley for this season if we bring Samutt in, he offers something different from what we have at the club. Also I'd duel register Nicklas with a championship club, would get a much better look at him at higher level then the 20s, and i dont think it would do him any favours being thrown straight in at the deep end, he looked good in the 20s, but Tommy Lee and Washbrook both really stood out at 6 at academy level, and especially in the case of Tommy Lee he had too much responsibility on his shoulders too soon, wouldn't want to see another talent ruined in the same way.

Tommy failed because he was not good enough.If players are good enough they will thrive, Horney & Tompkins being 2 prime examples, both very young when they had responisbility cast upon them.

The way things are Nicklas will be playing most weeks for the first team.

One major question regarding the signing of Sammut: Does he still have the long hair and tache?

Hopefully his head is turned by all the speculation. Wtih that in mind I'd fully expect him to be wearing the black and white jersey sooner rather than later.

Yet he looked better then Nicklas did at that level as did Washbrook, in my opinion there is no set rule when players are ready, almost everyone on this board agrees that our halfbacks will shape our season, if we get an injury to Long (assuming nobody else comes in) Nicklas will have to perform week in and week out, too much responsibility in my opinion. You mention Tompkins, I'd say he was a special case anyways, however good Nicklas is he dosnt have the quality that he has, but even so he forced himself into the Wigan side and was knocking on the door with performances in cup games, cameo appearances and reserves, he didn't have to come in and perform.

I've seen plenty of very talented kids fail because they fail to apply themselves properly and plenty of less talented kids succeed because they have the desire

I do not disagree with that...having experience working with youngsters we find the most sucesful players are the ones who want it bad and will relish new challenges, and push themselves to step upto the mark,they have it in their hearts and it is pure drive. Skills can be taught, desire cannot.

Yea I would like to see Nicklas get a fair few games this season. Only then can the culb really gauge if he has the ability/potential to make it in SL. Fitz will play the same game reguardless of the position he plays. He will graft, graft, graft all day long.
