| I do agree that we need Connor on the field for eighty minutes wherever possible. I remember him playing at fullback in a depleated Huddersfield side at their place the year before he joined us and he single handedly took us apart. I have some issues with Shaul. His inability to pass and him repeatedly running into dead ends and having to switch back the other way have been frustrating this year. I wouldn't mind seeing him having a runout on the wing. I don't think he's developed as well as may have been expected of him. That's not to say that what he does well he does really well.
There are a whole raft if issues to sort for next season. Our defensive line speed and lateral movement are terrible. Our attacking line is always flat with players taking the ball from a standing start unless there is a playbook move on, then everyone knows it's coming. I like Radford and he will always be a hero in my book for lifting the Cup in 2016 but he has to revisit the basics. I would definitely start at fullback and install Jake there for the start of next season.

Don’t think Powell would wear that for one second.

| I think I would now move Shaul from FB, as I think he is becoming stale. Maybe a few games on the wing and Connor to FB as a trial is a good idea. I like Hakim, he needs to play though also, perhaps at centre instead of Griffin. Might leave us weak defensively but I would try it, we ain't exactly defensive kings this year. I would deffo play Litten spelling Houghton, think Houghton maybe coming to the end, he's played so so many minutes bound to take its toll eventually on the body

Miloudi should be given a chance on the wing instead of Talanoa.
Miloudi cannot defend but on the wing he offers more pace than Talanoa plus he is a handful to defend and makes just as many metres as Talanoa.
Griffins defence is still very poor plus he makes too many mistakes but to consider Miloudi as a centre whos defence is even worse will never happen.
Griffin if he is still with the club next season will be used more as a second row.

| How about:
Connor
Shaul
Tuimavave
Scott
Faraimo
Kelly
Sneyd
Taylor
Houghton
Matongo
Griffin
Westerman
Bowden
Green
Paea
Litten
Manu
With a proper playmaker at FB you dont really need that extra pivot at 13, so Westerman can go back to playing wider where he has had success in the past. Griffin also adds a bit of size and pace to the back row, and whilst he will have to make more tackles in the second row they will be easier tackles. He is less likely to be caught out of position by the quick guys, which is often a problem for him at centre. Bowden will just play as a prop, giving us three big old battering rams in him, Masi and Taylor.
Shaul on the wing gives us someone with genuine pace and more importantly the acceleration to finish some of the chances that Talanoa simply can't. We won't lose his kick returns which are a strength, and he can still get in and scoot. It just means he isnt going to be clogging up any passing moves. Scott is a gamble but I think he has something about him and with a good preseason I think he can really progress. The halves pick themselves. Then its a big bench with Litten there to inject a bit of pace around DH against tiring defences. You can even bring him on for one of the second rows and have Houghton do a spell at 13 to change things up a bit if required. I would like to get Miloudi in there somewhere but I'm not sure where or how, but we will get injuries, so he will still have a part to play.
I dont for a second think Radford will pick a team like that, but I really like the look of it.

Why?? If there's one thing Shaul is, it's safe under the high ball.

| As much as I respect our full back, agree with Jake on this one, the wingers in our modern day game are much better suited to take cross field, and high kicks if they are tall and rangy with ability to out jump the opposing defender/attacker. Jamie’s height would be exposed on the flanks.

| Does Regan Grace regularly get outjumped?
To be honest, any winger with a running jump, can outjump any defending winger, so height isn't an issue for me

Probably would do against the like of Burgess or a Monaghan type winger, but think about it the other way Sneyd and Albo kicking at Wembley to Tuli or Jamie size matters

Regan Grace doesnt have to jump to score his tries.High kicks to the corner is not a big play for Saints they have good to supply the pass to their wings and the pace to break from deep.
Contrast that to us and its all we have

| Not sure if it has been announced but Connor Wynne has signed a full time contract with FC and was told that he'll replace Shaul eventually. I suppose that's all down to how he develops really though. Good player and if he gets his head down, he could be one hell of a player.

He's the current fullback for COHA. A very good prospect. If you follow COHA on social media, there seems to be a special try scored by him nearly every week. Before joining the academy he was touted as the next Sam Tomkins.

I work with his relative and we beat a lot of clubs for his signature, suppose to be a really good player . Let’s just hope he progresses, which isn’t always guaranteed with good young players .

Safe(ish) under the high ball at FB when he generally has time but isn;t big enough to defend effectively against cross field kicks. I'd question if anyone who doesn't see this as obvious has seen how the game has developed in the last 5 years

Teams don't kick to the corners so much these days. We are one of the few teams that still use the tactic regularly. More often its dropped on the scrum half's head. The days of Pat Richards and Monaghan scoring bags of tries from cross field kicks are gone.
Besides, he is only a whopping 2 inches shorter than Talanoa. He isn't a dwarf.

Teams use it every game but defenders deal with it better than they used to. It's also easier just to pass it to the winger against us and he'll generally have a walk in

I was hoping that was the case. I know Tag will be gutted, but he really does need to get himself right and have a full close season because his body has been pretty much non stop for 3 seasons now.
