That's true and he was trying to bulk up, even going so far as eating badly, but he's one of those people who just doesn't put weight on. I think that was the year he broke his leg as well so that brought a halt to the back row plans then Agar basically played him in every possible position just so he wouldn't have to play a youngster.

Always seems strange to me when people put things like this. Washbrook, Lee & Hall would have done the same.
Rich has more ability than those and more utility value, that makes him better and would rather discuss those qualities. It's not a competition about who bleeds blacker & whiter.

Not many players are deserving of the 'FC Legend' tag, but Rich Whiting is well on the way to that accolade.

Agree with that however i dont see him slower than lets say Sculthorpe or Farrel were??
hes a good all round much better than average player .

I really wouldn't be bothered if Tickle did leave as I would just slot Whiting straight into the 12 shirt. Not quick enough for a centre or half back, all the ingredients though to be a top backrower for me.

I know often the term "legend" is often wrongly used but Whiting for me is slowly becoming one. I still think we have a lot of rugby to be seen for us too from him.

Richard Whiting doesn't get the credit he deserves because of his 'utility' tag. He has been one of our best players for the past few seasons now. So very consistent.

not my opinion, sculthorpe was no sprinter by a long way and farrels lack of pace caught him out often enough , hes fast enough for what he does.....

Agreed. Andy Farrell was never ever quick. I'll never understand why fans get hung up on Whiting's lack of pace.

Whiting is faster than Farrell ever was.

Personally I like Whiting at 13. He can put in all the work that is required of the role and has the brain to distribute the ball well.

If Tickle left I would play Westerman at 12 and Whiting at 13.
