I was listening live and I personally agreed with pretty much all of it. We are boring a lot of the time and we will never win anything while Agar is in charge. Agar then chose a load of nonsense stats to try and prove his point. Stats can show anything that you want them to, you just have to choose the right ones.

FWIW, I would say that a hell of a lot more fans agree with you and would disagree with Agar's answers.

I agree. I don't care what stats are thrown out, the standard of rugby has been dire over the last couple of years.
We shouldn't be relying on individuals (like Long) for success, there should be structures in place to cover injuries.
If we are dealing with stats, my interest in watching FC has (unfortunately) dropped by 82.67% over the last two years.

The rugby is often painful to watch....however when mistakes come from champagne rugby (which they do)....these threads will change to ' for fecks sake why can't we just play basic rugby'

Just going back to an old point, we have 3 pivots 1,6 and 7 like all Aussie teams have and majority of teams here have. Rovers had 3 against Leeds Briscoe,Murrell and Dobson they had Watts at loose man. Tansey is better with ball in hand and like I said the other day Briscoe is an old style fullback.

I did find it amusing that the bloke was complaining we dont have 3 pivots and why dont we use Washy at 13, Washy is currently playing as a pivot and is pretty ordinary at it TBH. Tansey makes a much better 3rd Pivot than any of our options for 13 so were are playing with 3 pivots anyway.

I said at the time we signed Long that we would need to sign a creative 6 to play alongside him for when the inevitable injuries occur and to give us a double edged threat. Personally I would be doing everything we can to get Rangi Chase from Cas, currently top of the try assists chart and literally miles ahead of anyone in our team. If it means negotiating a release for Berrigan next season then so be it, the team would be benefit more IMO.

The other thing to come out of last night is the team for the derby should look something like

1. Whiting
6. Horne
7. Tansey
9. Berrigan/Houghton

A ball playing loose is a lot different pivot to a first or seconded reciever.

With chase and berrigan both contracted it would be a massive long shot.

Not from me they wont. I'm a huge fan of praising doing something different, even if it doesnt come off. It's the only way to evolve.

In what way? Still need to be able to pass the ball to a good standard, something that very few of our players can actually do.

It would be a long shot but if we want to get the best players in their prime it is going to cost money. Its worth spending a bit of money to get the pivotal players IMO especially players who still have their best years ahead of them. Really wish we had gone strongly to get Soward a few years ago when the rumours we doing the rounds.

I've been saying exactly this since he signed for Cas. He is a fantastic player and exactly what we need to cover 9,6 or 7. Instead we're paying Berrigan probably double what Rangi gets for being far less use to the squad.
