| [quote="mwindass":3lhffl4w]Half expected the Lane tip on Navarrette during the game.
The Rapana charge is for the pen in the match which was a rubbish call at the time. No clue on Bourouh[/quote:3lhffl4w]
To fair there wasn’t a lot Lane could have done once the tackle was well under effect, likely he’s been given the charge grading he has due to Navarette failing his HIA. Think the RFL, Officials and SL Head Coaches may well need a discussion on the way some of the new system is being implemented.
Yet nothing for any of the late hits on Cust or Sezer and not even a grade A charge for Cotric (I think) with the high shot on Cust while scoring the try in the corner.
I’m actually a little surprise they’ve not found anything to ping Ligi for
Also thought the way the green cards were given out was pretty poor and the attitude of Kendall and manner he approached it with the players was poor, he seems to have chip on his shoulder, but no change there.

So Lane will only get 2.5 points if the fine is paid yet Rapana would still be on 3 for a lesser offence? That can’t be true

| Both decisions are poor ones IMO, both were accidents and hard to avoid, Lane probably got his as the person he tackled failed his HIA, but it was looked at the time and wasn't even a penalty.
Got the same points as Lino, whose tackle was bad and lucky not to be sent off.
.Just wise they would apply some common sense.

He's still on mine. The problem is that other members quote him so his posts appear as normal.

| Think we can safely say that in essence what should have been an improvement and a fairly simple procedure seemingly has once again been poorly thought through and implemented by the RFL. These so called improvements in the area of the disciplinary have not only brought more confusion but have still not improved or made it any clearer as to the the decision making behind the grading by the so called Panel.
On top that we have the embarrassment of the Captains Challenge again what should be a simple concept and well worked in Aus but again in the hands of the RFL and Officials its poorly executed with the length of time the process is taking detracting from the game.
Yes I'll admit it's very early days but seems these are yet more so called improvements brought in that haven't been worked out fully and they are having using the early rounds of the 2025 as a testing ground.
What is also something that needs addressing is the fact that when Thaler asked for replays of the late hit of Sezer the French Broadcaster seemed to refuse Thalers request as you can clearly hear him tell Kendall that.
When the game really needs a really positive start and it gets one from the first 5 games played, it can't help but shoot itself in the foot with the things above and the whole Salford situation.

Sims got 1 point for late hit on a kicker. That's it for Catalans.

The one which we didn't get a penalty for, leading to Sezer been given a green card.
Meanwhile Rapana is now 1 point away from a ban because he fell over a player and made accidental contact with his knee.
You can only laugh.

I said earlier that I was a bit bemused as to how the French broadcaster would readily show all angles etc when it was a misdemeanour by us but very reluctant to do it when it was potentially one against the Cat. Conspiracy theory? Well maybe, but if you watch the game again it's perhaps coincidence, but again it's pretty apparent for me.

| With Holmes, Jed out surely Sao or Ashworth cover the 2nd Row both played there, I'd bring in Salabio on the bench with rather Moy or Kemp who could cover a few positions with Amir out too.

| I'm not sure, both Ashworth and Sao look much better at prop. Although we are low on options.

| Bonaire might be a moaning old git at times but I don't know why people get so wound up about him. Yeah he's overly negative at times but it would be boring if we all had the same opinions. I don't agree with a lot of his comments but he obviously cares about the club, anyone saying he's a Rovers fan is being silly.
And he's right about second row. It's our single biggest issue at the minute. Cartwright looks great when he's on the field but he seems very prone to picking up these little niggling injuries. Holmes obviously has a long term issue that he may or may not get over and it's unlikely we are going to see him for more than a game here and there for the foreseeable. Chamberlain is a squad player. Staveley is gone. The other young second rowers probably aren't ready yet. Fash, Sao and Ashworth are all square pegs in round holes. The only reliable second row we currently have is Lane, and he still has plenty to prove. He was ok against Catalans but only ok. He ran some smart lines at times I thought but didn't make a lot of impact and his defence was suspect again. There was a lot to like about the Catalans performance and there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about where we are heading, but we need to address the second row issue.

Absolutely agree with all those saying we are light in the second row but just wanted to add a defence of Lane here. He was named in the SL team of the week. I think that suggests that he did more than OK against Catalans to be fair.

Like I said he played he ok, I wasn't being overly critical of him, but with you saying that I went to look at his stats. He had 27 tackles, 6 misses, and 8 carries for 42 metres. So his workrate was nothing special, he dropped off tackles and made minimal impact with his carries. I know stats aren't everything but it backs up my view that he was pretty average. Very surprised the put him in the team of the week. Even the much maligned Fash was better defensively and averaged more yards.

| What is fairly undeniable is that our head coach's, from Radders, Lasty, Hodgson, Smith, Grix, and now Cartwright, have seen value in starting Jordan Lane regularly in our starting 13 for several seasons now.
Far more than it appears on here.
But what would head coaches of Hull FC know as opposed to random internet posters on a rugby league forum?

| To be fair to Lane, thought he had loads about him when he first broke through, but when your teams continually fighting a rearguard action season after seaon, well, when are you gonna see the full potential in anyone?
