Shaul
Lineham
Talanoa
Bridge
Pomoroy
looks good to me but agree that the 2 new signings will most likely come from NRL.

If true and I haven't seen it anywhere, it will be a real shame, him and Watkins could be the England centres for years to come.

Wouldn't surprise me TBH, I would have thought Wigan would have had him signed up by now.

| Guess Sa is off to union aswell then?
I like Pomeroy, but he's just a bigger, better version of Yeamo. We need strike centres like Sarginson, but very much doubt we'd stand a chance of getting him.

| Time for a total clear out. We have far too much in the way of over rated players. Maybe I'm clueless but everyone's banging on about Taylor and TBH I ain't seen him have a game where I've thought wow I'd love him in our team. Over the past few seasons we have continued to replace top players with mediocre players and it shows. If you could pick the ten best props in SL would Taylor be in it, I doubt it.
If we are to move forward we obviously need a new coach and we need to bring in more quality. Just look at the pack a couple of years ago, O'Meely, Lynch, Moa, Manu, Tickle, Fitzgibbon, and compare it to what we have now, like for like its a total downgrade. I know it's much harder to sign players these days and blah blah blah, but every other team is still managing to sign players of much better quality than us.
Also how do Leeds Saints and Wigan constantly bring in young players who look like top players, when ours look ordinary...anyway rant over

In answer to my own question...to say Shaul and Lineham are ordinary is very unfair, but since we produced Cook, Horne, King, that era the players we produce are not of the same calibre as what the top four seem to turn out on a consistent basis. Just look at the current crop, players like Ward, Singleton, Jones, Toby King, Greenwood, Williams, every year they seem to unearth two or three youngsters that are better than anything we ever see. I know we have some good youngsters coming through but what's been going on for the last decade?

How about a clearout of the whole coaching staff???
Radford wont employ an attack coach, last season Sneyd & Pryce were among the best HB's in Super League, but if their basic skill level is eroded by poor quality preparation & practice,we're seeing the same scenario time after time.
We're relying on a 50/50 bomb,or interceptions to score, any opposition's coach wont have nightmares how to control our offence.
Depressing times....

At least we're consistent.
When Radders gets replaced our next coach will need a season before he gets his own team.

Not practical or necessary IMO. Sacking and paying off half a dozen people when our conditioning/fitness look OK and the academy are doing well so far?

Interesting question; with the benefit of having longer to gauge things by now, how does Radford/Tony's recruitment compare to Gentle/McRae's in hindsight?
Personally, I'd say hits and misses for both. Possibly the former slightly better on paper, but IMO the latter better on the pitch. If you were to list out which players you'd get rid of, it's worrying how many of them are the current coach's choices yet again.

The difference is that Gentle had the ability to turn some of his makeshift signings into solid players who did a job for the team e.g Aspinwall, Pitts etc
Radford hasnt done this, even with his so called star signings like Sneyd. And to make things worse he got rid of two of our better players in Crooks and Heremaia and replaced them with duds. One step forward, three steps back.

They certainly were. It's worth remembering that Sneyd was 2nd for try assists last year and 6th for attacking kicks. Pryce was in the top five for try assists too until Frayssinous decided to not pick him.
Has to be down to the lack of attacking strategy at Hull that their games are struggling.

I'd say they both have a poor record of signings. Over the last 4 years our only genuine top class signing has been Ellis. Paea has proven to be a quality buy, and a couple of others such as Talanoa have performed ok considering they won't be amongst the top earners.
Aside from that it's been a revolving door of average players who either weren't up to it, or should have been given longer to prove themselves as we haven't replaced them with better. Gentle's mistake was making too many changes after a strong finish in 2012, in hindsight we could have kept the likes of Aspinwall and McGoldrick for another year as they were performing and we didn't bring better in.
During this time we've also lost genuine quality like Manu, Moa, Briscoe & O'Meley and lost great young talent in Turner and Crooks and not replaced them. The overall problem is we approach our transfer dealings like a kid in a sweet shop and snap up any old 'hasbeen' or 'never going to be' with no plan, whereas other teams sort the spine of the team out and then fill the squad up with young players.

| Sneyd was poor in the last few games of 2014. In the Cup Final, he was actually subbed off. He is a cracking player but somethings not right.
Houghton, Yeaman, Whiting have to go for a start at the end of the year. Sorry, but they're weak links.
