No offence to Liam, but he's simply not good enough to put pressure on Lineham or Talanoa, he's cover for the worst case scenario.

Adding Colbon, I doubt will put any pressure on Lineham. Even an off form Lineham will pose a threat to the opposition, unlike Colbon.
Stark may not be fully ready but in reality, without Colbon in the squad, he would unlikely be called up.

Stark is some way off at the moment from what I saw pre season. If we had to put Arundel on the wing (specialist position now as already mentioned) due to injury that would only leave Whiting as a backup centre so things could quickly deteriorate. Must be a very small contract so it's a bit of insurance as much as anything. Can't see McDonnell or Crookes playing again for Hull as it would seem likely we'd be over the cap if they did.

Was surprised yesterday when this was just a rumour. My feeling at the time was that we didn't need another winger with Lineham, Talanoa and Crookes in the squad, Biggs to come, and other players that could be switched to the wing if necessary.

But having read some of the comments from Radford I don't think we'll be seeing Biggs any time soon and I must admit that I was unaware that Crookes was injured. So we only have two fit wingers as things stand and we don't want to be shuffling players around and out of position so early on IMO. Plus Colbon's only been signed on a one year deal. I think it makes sense as a cover option for us.

He was steady when he played for us ran the ball back in well but as Stan said he broke his jaw and was never the same player after that can't understand why you've signed unless your getting rid of someone

No he's not, but Arundle is probably earning a few quid.....and played for Doncaster at weekend on dual registration. Why would we have loads of cash tied up in someone not getting a game? I'm well aware we need cover, but not at his price.

As for Crookes, he will be on a fair whack and yet again will struggle to get a game when all players are fit. In my eyes it's best they get him gone, and have players like Colbon, who needs to prove himself, on not so much money.

The chances are Crooks or Yeaman will be missing a few games and Arundel gives us good cover, I don't know what he earns, what would be the point in releasing him now? Is there any available players better? Colbons not and we can afford them all under the cap.

And as proven with Briscoe, even harder to keep.

With Crookes injured and no sign of Biggs, makes sense to have some experienced cover. Stark still 12 months away IMO.

Even without injuries Arundel can push for a place IMO. Yeaman looked much better than last year against Catalan, but if his form goes back to like last year I'd personally give Arundel a go. Likewise if Crooks misses tackles for fun like on Friday his place should also come under threat. I think it's far from cut and dried who are our 2 best centres.

To be fair, I often had an obsured view of him, usually caused by my hands over my eyes as he prepared to diffuse a bomb.

I am not sure about Colbon either but like any new player at the club he deserves a chance at least. To write him off already at a new club with a different set up and culture is just crazy. I like the way Radders is going about things and not playing players out of position, which as been our downfall in recent years.
