Houghton's job is to come on and run from dummy half and use his speed to find holes in a tiring defence. IMO the only game he has done this was the Quins game, the other three he added no impact. It's for that reason I would drop him as I think Turner could do a similar job if not better and gives us more options.

It's because the majority of people on here seem to enjoy putting player's down and are too quick in writing them off as not good enough etc.....
IIRC it's not that long ago that quite a lot on here were saying that Washy should be the future captain of Hull FC.

I like Washbrook and think he'll make a top a player, but I agree with those that say he really needs to be playing regularly. I don't think sending him to the championship will do him much good either. FWIW, if we signed him, I'd be pretty chuffed.

What it did for Hall was allow him to regain his confidence, and maybe polish up his defence a little. Washy has no lack of confidence and his defence is just fine.

Washy is a SL player but sadly not one that should be playing for a top side.

I hardly think he is suggesting that we did well just because Washbrook was a 13. It does however pour a little cold water on some folks claims that we'll never be a top side with players like Washbrook.

Danny is a very good player and has been very valuable to our squad over the last few years,agar rates him very highly but its just one of them things that atm we are in a very strong position in having a great squad and the size of it too,players are going to be dissapointed as rich cant please everyone,its a good position to be in,we are 4 games in and have had the luxary of keeping pretty much the same team so far,its great not to be worrying about injuries for a change,only had longy so far and we have coped well apart from the one blip at crusaders,long may it continue,im sure during a very long season all the players will get there chance,the trouble is danny is in my opinion a 13 and atm he will struggle to get a game there.

Some people don't let the truth influence their opinions. Washy is a very good 13, but just not as good as Fitz. So is his rightfully his understudy. He'll be our 13 when Fitzy goes and for many years after. I've always said that Fitz is Washy's "finishing school".

East Hull - I've watched DW's career with a level of besument tbh. I can even vividly remeber certain individual games when I wanted to haul him off. Widnes away in the cup 2 years ago, playing in the halves, absolutle garbage, couldn't even show something different against a chamopionship club. I don't see and never have seen what all the fuss is about. People on here have been touting him as a potential GB player. He isn't that young anymore relatively speaking in todays game and if he was as good as folk reckon, he would be in our 17 now.

Even if Fitzgibbon hadn't of come to Hull , I still think Washbrook would find his chances limited due to Agar's preference of playing Radford in that position.

I've never touted him as a future England player, but think that at 13 he is a very good player. He's not a half back by any stretch of the imagination. As a 13 he has played in teams that have finished 2nd and 4th and reached a Grand Final no less. It's been that long since he's had an extended run at 13 and a lot of people have forgotten how good he was.

I rate Danny incredibly highly as ive said on here before and i think he still has a huge future with us. He's suffering at the minute though imo because of the time he has spent out injured over the last couple of years. He seems to have lost his speed and his step that made him so good with ball in hand previously. Maybe we need to look to turn him into a Cunningham type 9?
