He'll be 33 next season and we'd be lucky if we got a season out of him imo. So on that basis, I'd rather go without a new half for next season and look to sign a top half for the season after.

I've seen a photo of Taylor in a Wigan jacket but I know someone who works with Taylors grandad and apparently he's said that he hasn't signed for anyone as of yet. Hudgell stating that he will be sold to the highest bidder and if that was the case he'd be signing for Hull.

Although I do expect him to sign for Wigan shortly.

Therein lies the problem... the question of availability.

All the top scrum halves are tied into medium to long term contracts which would need a hefty fee to release.

Prince would be a hell of a signing as he is still turning in performances which belie his age and would probably be good for 2 - 3 more seasons.

Eastmond & Dureau would be top signings.

Danny Brough only has 2 years left and I reckon would love to return if he could be released. Incidentally i believe that we would have been a top 4 side already if we had built a team around him and not let him go.

The fact of the matter is no matter what excuse anyone makes, we do not currently have a scrum half with the skill, vision and ability to make us a top 4 team never mind grand finalists.

We have leadership from our forwards in spades but that just is not enough.

Breaking the bank is the only serious way we can aspire to the next level.
